  3. Usually Friday afternoon is bad news, not for Rauner media guys, it’s “payday” time.

Comment by Oswego Willy Friday, Oct 10, 14 @ 4:20 pm

  4. Hopefully he is going to use some of that money to hire Quinn’s ad guy. That dude is cleaning their clock.

  7. Any of you know the “Bruce for Bruce” donation total off the top of your head?

I lost track somewhere around the $40,000,000 mark…

Comment by MrJM Friday, Oct 10, 14 @ 4:28 pm

  8. Maybe Bruce lost his place on money tracking, cause the Tribune writes today on page one above the fold, “Rauner, a first time candidate who appeared to lose his place at times,….”

Comment by Amalia Friday, Oct 10, 14 @ 4:37 pm

  9. “Citizens for Rauner, Inc.” Does incorporating it mean it’s another business venture he’s always successful at?

Comment by West Side the Best Side Friday, Oct 10, 14 @ 4:42 pm

  10. MrJM, this brings the total to $51+ million. $17.5 million from the candidate.

  12. Rauner’s consultants have got him right where they want him. This guy must be a hoot at the poker table.

Comment by Yellow Dog Democrat Friday, Oct 10, 14 @ 4:51 pm

  13. I get the impression Rauner hates throwing good money after bad. I wonder if things continue to go badly for him if we see the personal money spigot turned off.

Comment by chi Friday, Oct 10, 14 @ 4:52 pm

  14. Willy, say it ain’t so!

Comment by Arthur Andersen Friday, Oct 10, 14 @ 4:53 pm

  15. Is it just me, or has the RGA been conspicuously out of the picture financially and otherwise for Rauner in the past few weeks? Maybe they have been seeing the polling too.

Comment by DuPage Mama Friday, Oct 10, 14 @ 4:53 pm

  16. - AA -,

Between us, don’t say anything. Shhh.

Once you and - wordslinger - , get the checks from Rauner, after the election, you guys reorganize, we split the pot.

    Easy peasy.

    Just keep it between us.

  19. still waiting for that $10-15 million check. then i know he’s really serious and wants to win

Comment by PoolGuy Friday, Oct 10, 14 @ 4:57 pm

  20. Wondering how many candidates put one year’s salary into the campaign.

I have the impression that its not all that rare.

Still, it makes you ask why he really wants to be Gov. Can he really do more as Gov. than as by donating the $52 million to charitable groups?

Does he get that even if he wins, he’s not dictator? He may well not be able to accomplish much?

As some price, it becomes more about ego than about doing good.

Comment by Gooner Friday, Oct 10, 14 @ 4:59 pm

  21. Should’ve spent that money years ago on hiring a qualified African-American to work at GTCR. Now it’s just being wasted.

Comment by LizPhairTax Friday, Oct 10, 14 @ 4:59 pm

  22. The RGA gave another million last week. Wonder when they’ll say “enough” after giving $8.6 million to a self-funded billionaire.

Comment by Snucka Friday, Oct 10, 14 @ 5:01 pm

  23. I wouldn’t be too happy throwing my own money at that crew right now.

They’ve been getting beat like a rented mule here in the home stretch.
