  4. Janice was my number one all-time favorite singer.

That looked like Mama Cass Elliot, blown away by Janice’s performance, sitting in the audience there just before the end.

  11. ===Big Brother always sounded like they were tuning up. ===

I actually liked that sound. It was off just enough to be jarring and a bit jazzy.

  21. Love love love this. Thanks Rich. My friend Cathy Richardson, from Chicago, and played Janis in the show Love, Janis, also does a great version of Ball and Chain. Google it. You won’t be disappointed.

  27. I saw BB&HC with Cathy Richardson sitting in several years ago. The funniest thing I remember from that show is bassist Pete Albin’s statement “I used to do acid…now I do antacid.”

  28. I first saw “Monterrey Pop” at a midnight show double bill with “Don’t Look Back” at the old Playboy Theater. The memory of “Ball and Chain” stuck with me for years. The reaction shot of Mama Cass’s “Wow” is terrific.
