From Reuters:

Potential candidates for Democrats in 2008 [presidential campaign] who might get a boost from Tuesday’s party wipe-out include Indiana Sen. Evan Bayh, Virginia Gov. Mark Warner or Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich.

I have nothing to say about this. But if you do, here’s the reporter’s email address.

  1. A boy can dream. I could make Blagozo part of the language.

  2. Heaven help us! Kicking him upstairs might be one way to get rid of the guy, but I wouldnt’ wish that on the rest of the nation.

  3. Rod for President? God help us.

Brad Tusk, the out of stater Deputy Governor, appeared at an event recently. First he joked that, seeing as he was from New York, “the Governor must not have found anyone in Illinois qualified enough”. I hope I heard him correctly. Give me a break.

Then he goes into this big long speech about his work for Sen. Schummer, Mike Bloomberg and others and all of the great press conferences he was able to hold on issues he came up with.

And then it hit me: that is exactly wrong with this Governor. His “senior” (including Mr. 30 something year old Tusk) advisors all come from the East Coast, where they are used to government by press conference and trying to score points rather than working with others. If Tusk was from Illinois (hey Rod: is that too much to ask?!) he would know that the Illinois way is to work together, on a bipartisan basis when possible, to get things done.

Well, at least if Rod was President his advisors would be back on their beloved East Coast and wouldn’t have to sacrifice themselves here in the midwest. Rod needs to get his act together next Spring or else get lost and go back to his kids (which is the reason he says he cannot be in Springfield conducting business while the Legislature is in session). Rod should get lost and Tusk should go with him.
