Male Narrator: “She will never get another job anywhere, ever. I will bankrupt her. I will bury her. We’ll hurt you and your family.”
Female Narrator: According to court documents, these are the words spoken by Bruce Rauner about a female CEO he personally hired.
Threats to her family. Threats to destroy her security. Threats to ruin her life.
Bruce Rauner: Not fit to be Governor.

Court documents generally consist of allegations rather than facts. That is why there are trials to determine what the facts are.

Not fit is the best knot to wrap around that noggin. His wealth is not important. His skillless approach to problem solving is a huge disqualifier.
Still lying about his tax hike plan.
Unwilling to take any responsibilities for his bizwiz scandals
And that laundry list of tax deductible donations as his entrée to every issue make you puke.
What Illinois needs is for a few papers to wise up and recant those ill conceived endorsements

Ouch ! If this ad runs in enough markets, with enough frequency it could have an impact. Even more damning than the anti-Brady puppy ad.

As under Further Review writes, allegations aren’t facts. But people don’t think while watching TV, they react emotionally, and this ad hits the emotional notes pretty well, so it should be effective

Sworn depos are under the threat of perjury.
It’s as impactful as the original, packaged a bit different, but reinforces who they believe Rauner to be, through the words of a sworn deposition.

We have a congressman who had some stuff said in a sworn depo that suffice to say were ‘problematic’ same person stood by him..

Note: I saw 6 Rauner ads last night on cable TV in suburbs, one Quinn. That $6Billion new money is having some impact.

Then why settle if you are not at-fault? Because what can come out in court can be worse! You don’t need an admission of guilt to come to a reasonable conclusion.

Thousands of cases settle because it is cheaper than conducting trials and pursuing actual verdicts.

Settle for $500,000? That’s a bit over attorney fees. One doesn’t settle for 1/2 Mil because they are ‘nice guys’. They settle because the bean counters have said a loss at trial would be 10x it.
Brucie said money wasn’t a problem. He had plenty of cash, and lawyers to ‘destroy’ her, and her family.
He had a losing hand, and decided to cut and run, before he was handed a very large verdict.

Right now people have tuned out the ads the mailers and aren’t answering the phone. Unless there is some new revelation it’s just all white noise.

So the Plaintiff settled for chump change so Rauner could save a few bucks?
Why not take it to trial and go for the gold? The decision to settle was made by the Plaintiff.
You are reading too much into this or you have never been to civil court.

No, I’m taking GTCRauner’s word on this. They just settled ‘because it was the nice thing to do’. That’s how big business runs now. Sue them, case has no merits (per Rauner) but they just throw 1/2 Mil at it because they are ‘nice’.
Sure hope the State doesn’t get sued often when GTCRauner is in charge. We’ll go broke with all the ‘nice guy’ settlements.
You can be obtuse about it all you want. Rauner had the cash to bleed her dry. If money was no object for him, he should have forced her hand and took it to court.
Oh that’s right….that pesky deposition. I wonder if that had any affect?
