John Cullerton’s challenger Stefanie Linares has orange signs (bad idea). Lakeview is quiet except for Governor’s race.

800+ per day voting early in Orland Township last week. Was crowded when I went. No visitors to the door yet, and only one person passing fliers at the Metra station so far. Robocalls ringing the phone off the hook.
Flier passers for local Senator/Rep (D’s) Cunningham/Hurley at polling place pushing their efforts against SB16 which would take millions from local schools, though pretty sure their opponents would vote the same way if elected.

Mostly Rauner signs, mostly Quinn walkers / callers. I’m a “0″ which means I don’t vote in Primaries but I vote in every election, so I see it all.
And, I almost forgot… The mailers, every day with the mailers. My God, what has the world come to. They are making me hate everyone.

Oh, and was in Champaign last weekend and Obie had people working the tailgate lots at the Illini game. Talk about a pair of lost causes (though the Illini actually won that day).

voted today south cook suburb, election commish’ asked why I left so many blank? I responded verbally “I didn’t vote to retain Dem. Cook Co. judges that may vote against my 2 amendment rights” I was applauded by majority in the room…

Delayed mail from the state party / Rauner to my neighborhood.
Signs are popping up, including a small, small amount of Quinn signs. Interesting to “see”
There’s more of a Quinn sign presence than 4 years ago.

I live in Chicago’s 46th Ward, and if it weren’t for the TV ads, you’d never know there was an election going on. No yard signs, nothing (although as heavily Democratic as the ward is, they probably don’t want to waste their resources). I have not received ANY mailers from Quinn or Rauner in weeks (maybe months), even though I vote in every election and have voted in both Democratic and Republican primaries over the last 10 years. I would have thought I would be one of those voters they were both trying to woo, but I guess not.

In my neck of Peoria County we have a basically unopposed Aaron Schock and an unopposed Dave Leitch in the GA. So we focus on the statewide offices.

In my neck of the woods–nothing. Just a few yard signs for Oberweise, the Rep. AG candidate (can’t think of his name), and Cross. That is not surprising, as my little town in N. Central Illinois is about 80% republican and there are no real races outside the top state officials. But surprisingly, not a single Rauner sign. I have, however, seen one Grimm sign.

Right now, the teacher strike is center stage with every local politician rallying with the teachers. We have our mayor, Wayne Motley, Senator Terry Link, Rep Rita Mayfield, and some candidates running for county positions walking with us on the picket line. I haven’t seen a Quinn or Rauner sign anywhere in town.

I quit watching television and my mail is 10 feet high outside my front door. Nastiest elections ever in NW Illinois. Repulsive. Can’t even imagine the amount of money spent up here.

I have seen Albany Park Neighborhood Council people out registering voters and contacting registered voters who are not regular voters.
And there’s been the Dem Party sample ballot.
The version I saw in Ward 10 had Preckwinckle’s picture.
The version I was in Ward 33 had pictures of Preckwinkle and Lisa Madigan.

Too many phone calls from both political parties.
That’s what happens when you change your party for the primary governor’s race. Also stacks of campaign mail from both parties. Almost no political signs in the yards or streets of our Chicago suburb.

In Carol Stream, I haven’t received a single call. The only candidates or walkers to stop by the Lunchbox abode have been the Dem & GOP candidates for the Forest Preserve district seat. Most of the signs/mailers are for the state House race (Deb Conroy vs. Heidi Holan.) Rauner country for sure, I’ve seen only a few brave Quinn signs.

Ducey(R) is ahead of DuVal(D) by 5 to 10 points. Ducey is the “Coldstone” founder (rich guy) and DuVal is the guy who thought it was a good idea to charge less tuition to illegal immigrants at Arizona colleges than to legitimate Arizonan students. There’s also concern that our 70-80% funding level for public pensions is a little light. We’re also trying to figure out what to do about a potential budget deficit….IN 2017!!!
Either one of these guys is head and shoulders above Quinn and Rauner as problem solvers.
In Illinois, my daugher tells me that she’s being bombarded with polls and robocalls in SW Cook. There’re signs up, but the citizens feel pretty much that the state is doomed no matter who’s elected, and they’re looking for their “exit” strategy. I guess they weren’t impressed by all the fertilizer and min wage warehouse jobs Quinn is bringing in.

Wellll, if there was ever any question which pols would sell out the kids and families for the union special interests, I guess their picketing against the kids removes all doubts.
I guess the teachers unions are at their best when seeking to take unfair advantage of the powerless kids. What’s this claim that the teachers are supposed to prevent bullying?
Seems like their “golden apple” up there has some worms in it.

In the Deep South, Karmeier is all over the airwaves, for and against. We’ve got Bost/Enyart for Congress and Kilquist/Bryant for the 115th… Some Quinn/Rauner, but no where near the airtime taken up by McConnell/Grimes for U.S. Senate in Kentucky. With a week to go…some of the local folks are starting to appear. Wish I owned a TV station.

The polling companies know our family is not tied at the hip to either political party. As a consequence, we have been bombarded with robocalls and live pollers for state and local candidates from both parties. We have decided to strictly adhere to our previously hit-or-miss practice of not answering the home phone unless we recognize the caller id.

Close to nothing. Couple of Rauner signs here and there. No calls, no mailers. Drove through Bridgeport to get to Midway, and saw a couple Lisa signs. I have yet to see a Quinn sign this season.
Early Voting Station was close to empty last Thursday. Maybe 4 or 5 people when I was there during lunch.
Outside of the TV ads, I would have no idea there was an election next week.

In Rauner territory. The most Rauner signs seem to be on his street in Winnetka. Have seen some R signs come down, but maybe because of Halloween, other houses signaled support for R by doubling up, sometimes 4 signs on a lawn! However, some of the most conservative republicans used to put up billboard sized signs for the republican candidates and these are weirdly absent, for Rauner or Oberweis. Fewer phone calls,.no canvassers, oddly quiet.

I voted early last week for the first time at Oak park Village Hall.
There were a dozen booths and I had to wait about fifteen minutes for my turn.
Harmon’s crew is working it. I’ve had a couple of knocks, and there are plenty of signs.
The GOP here doesn’t have shoes, apparently, so they just write cranky letters to the editor rather than hustle. They have some goof blogging in the local paper who felt the need to call Dawn Clark Netsch a “pinko” after she died, so that gives you an idea of the level of competition.
That’s always been weird to me. Believe me, the GOP leaves a lot of votes on the field here just because they don’t put in any effort at all.

Few Quinn signs in DuPage. I was told they are being distributed sparingly.
The state & county signs I put out (Democratic) have mostly been been pulled except those in front of homes. By Monday those in front of homes will have been pulled as well.
Lots of signs for Deb Conroy as well as Heidi Holan. Signs for Zaruba vs Quiroz for Sheriff and Tammy Duckworth signs….A spattering of the rest.

Other than the Enyart/Bost ads on St. Louis TV ( unfortunately I live in Shimkus District ) the big money is going into the Karmeier retention issue for the Supreme Court. Disturbing campaign on many levels!

Outside of ads on TV not much in my neighborhood far western Dupage. State House is unopposed and Roskam is running against some unknown dude. The majority of signs are for the Zaruba-Quiroz race for sheriff and the contested seats for County Board and Forest Preserve Board.

Heavy GOTV phone efforts by Dems in the Cook burbs, but many of our completed calls to solid supporters have early voted. Just speaking in a small corner of the area.
Impression is that early voting is heavier than expected in near-Chicago suburbs. That could go either way at this point.

Nasty commercials. Nasty radio ads. Nasty mailers. RI County is nothing but huge signs everywhere in town. Some folks have 10 signs in their yard. Some are half a billboard and blocking ur line of vision. Some mud slingin’ between the County party people over votin’. Poor Jessie White came up here and not a word in the newspapers.

I’m knee deep in mail in the 17th. Lots from unions, especially Illinois Federation of Teachers. Signs EVERYWHERE. Some yards look like graveyards full of tombstones there are so many signs. Plus the big mini billboard signs.
Thankfully we DVR everything, and I can avoid the pain of repeated political TV ads. Also, I don’t answer the phone to unknown numbers, so no calls.

I had a couple of union friends that normally always vote Democrat tell me that they had just early voted for Rauner. They were shaking their heads while telling me as if they were almost ashamed by what they had just done. Both of these union guys said they would have still voted Democrat if it had been for any other Democrat gubernatorial candidate but Pat Quinn. I was really surprised at their reaction for failing to vote Democrat. They looked like they had just lost their best friend or as if their girlfriend had just dumped them. Lisa Madigan would have killed Rauner in the election but Pat Quinn doesn’t look like he is going to get the job done. Even against a light-weight like Rauner who would be a third-stringer candidate if he hadn’t been able to self-fund his own campaign.

I’ve seen signs for both the 97th 98th house districts in my neck of the woods I see a Dunn signs next to Natalie Manley signs, or Batman signs next to Bolton signs, mostly Rauner signs for gov a few Quinn ones which look very similar to Mike Kelley signs which are everywhere

Hottest state rep race I can remember with Cloonen v Nixon in the 79th. Cloonen signs everywhere but it will be tight. Also a interesting county executive referendum on the ballot in addition to 2 sales tax measures, one for schools another for the county. Both seem to be long shots

In Schaumburg (which generally votes Dem in recent elections) tons o’ Rauner signs, but only 1-2 Pat Quinn signs so far. But Dem legislator Michelle Mussman - “Mom on a mission” is winning the front lawn signage race.
