Gov. Bruce Rauner used a Bible with a historical connection to Springfield on Monday when he was sworn in as governor.
Rauner used a Bible supplied by the Illinois Historic Preservation Agency that had belonged to Springfield heiress and philanthropist Susan Lawrence Dana, who commissioned architect Frank Lloyd Wright to design and build her home — what is now the Dana-Thomas House State Historic Site.

As a lefty I’m guessing the judge is left-handed as well. We get this stuff mixed up all the time. Took me years as a kid to not stick my left hand out to my elders when shaking hands.

The photographer had the image in his camera reversed in order to cast aspersions on Rauner’s legitimacy because he’s a holdover staff plant from the previous administration….or was it the judge who was swearing him in, leading him to hold up the wrong hand? Wow, this is getting to be a pretty big plot! Someone should be informed.

It’s a well known fact that a Cylon can’t raise its right hand for more than 10 seconds without shutting down. So, now we know one of the 8 models in the administration. The Lt. Gov. doesn’t appear to have the high Artificial Intelligence of a Cylon, so we’ll have to keep looking.

It is a very old belief that a person’s right hand is closer to god, than his left. Also, many cultures wipe their toilet paper-less behinds with their left, mandating that they never use their left hands when dining. The left hand is considered dirty, and often is in many parts of the world which dictate left and right hand usages.
Left handed individuals were once forced to use their right hands and it wasn’t uncommon for, (usually boys), to have their dominant left hands tied behind them at school, to train them to use their right hand.
The Romans word for left is “sinister”, which was the side of the toga where the pocket was located. (Thank you years of Latin study!)
