  1. I agree with Mark Brown, going through airport secuirty is not for the faint of heart. One of the last trips I took was from Savannah, GA to Atlanta. The check point “guards” were horrible. They treated me like I was under arrest and there appeared to be no supervisor around to tone down their excessive behavior. I was pulled out of line with no explanation and given no instructions, unless I did something not to their liking. It was one of the last times I’ve flown and I won’t miss it.

  3. The State Election Board has released the Official Results from November on its website. Blago finished just shy of 50% with 1,736,219 votes or 49.79%. Judy Baar Topinka had 1,368,682 or 39.25%, Whitney had 361,163 or 10.36%. Amongst the plethora of write-in candidates, Randy Stufflebeam got 19,017 or .55% of the vote. (Pretty good showing for not being on the ballott) Far behind him next was Mark McCoy with 476. Neuikirk was further back in the pack with 241 votes.

  5. RE: Monk and Tusk. Is this a case of the rats leaving the sinking ship or are they now so full of themselves after two wins that they are ready to take on corporate America where the big money is?
It must have been torture for them to live in Illinois.

  6. A board president’s vote has always been tied to his occupying a commissioner’s seat as well. Still, a good bit of creative lawyering that will require a lawsuit to get a judicial determination that the antiquated law does not apply. Even the old law was predicated upon the president also being a commissioner.

Yet another argument for specifically revoking antiquated laws, rather than leaving them sitting on the books on the assumption that noone would ever try and stand on them.

  8. Will Rich Daley shrug off the indictment of Victor Reyes?
He can’t say he didn’t know him like John Resa.
He can’t say he is a good guy like Sorich.
Victor Reyes is the opposite of a good guy, in fact a very bad sleazy guy. No church fundraisers for him.

  9. Wow. Michael Madigan lost a bill? Did Hell freeze over? What is the deal with this? Signs of his power waning? Something else? Someone explain this one. Isn’t it a first?
