  1. I guess that I’ll have to find a new place to get my car license renewed!

  3. ==Rose says to hold a kid in Paris IL hostage, to protect CPS, is absolutely wrong - pure and simple==

He’s right. Too bad he doesn’t hold those views on the budget in general.

  4. Did anyone restore the retired teachers health insurance in the Rauner k-12 budget? It was always part of k-12 funding, it was in last year’s budget, but Rauner’s group had it at $0 for FY17.

  5. “DHS hiring as service providers languish”
Could DHS hire those service providers?

  6. “.@jasonbarickman says @GovRauner right now is saying let’s fully fund our schools. That’s an incredible message.”

It would be an incredible message if the bill also included funding for colleges and universities. Lets fully fund all of our schools: Pre-K thru 12 PLUS higher education & adult education.

  7. “Sen Radogno: “There is no way we will support a $500 million bailout of CPS.”

Does this mean the kids in Chicago Public Schools do not matter? The governor said “Lets fully fund all of our schools”? The last time I checked, Chicago Public Schools are located in Illinois.

  8. That is a bizarre picture of Munger to use in conjunction with that story. It looks like she is manically happy that the state is $10B in debt.

  9. Rose argues that the approp bill is not worth passing because Higher Ed bills would just be added to the back of the line. False promise, he says.

Hello, they’re not even in the line now. Does the GOP want to tell higher ed that you don’t deserve to be part of the line?

  10. ==Sullivan: we’ll stay and work on the budget if you and the governor are ready to talk about the budget, not the GOP agenda.==

In one sentence, Sullivan really got to the heart of the issue.
