  3. Wouldn’t an airport and new expressway technically drive more business/manufacturing growth?

Comment by Snarks McGee Wednesday, Oct 5, 16 @ 1:39 pm

  4. “And by ‘Chicago Southland’ I mean, of course, ‘Indiana’… Let’s hear it for Indiana!”

Comment by Skeptic Wednesday, Oct 5, 16 @ 2:22 pm

  15. But I -80 is a traffic nightmare and I won’t support anything being built to help move Illinois ahead unless I break all unions first. Even if that means destroying social services and Universitys and what ever else is in my way. Because I am “winning” just ask my own pollsters and other republicans I (own) fund.

  18. But…

Looks a lot like blue jeans. If so, a sleazy, disrespectful look for the CEO of a State. But would be typical.

    Comment by sal-says Wednesday, Oct 5, 16 @ 2:52 pm

  19. Regrets, I’ve had very few
But some collectivist may try to mention
We set the Turnaround Agenda, not cut apart your pension
I planned each show and tell, every stop along the highway
But this, all of this, I did it My Way.

  20. But you’re goin’ to have to trust me on my TA agenda…right here in my back pocket!

  22. …Illiana wants me, lord I can’t go back there!

Comment by Six Degrees of Separation Wednesday, Oct 5, 16 @ 4:08 pm

  23. I’m generally not a Rauner fan, but seriously is it so hard to give the Gov credit when he’s doing something good?

He’s out there busking for Illinois, and all these comments are policy attacks, without ever acknowledging this effort to bring business and jobs to Illinois. Yeah, I know he’s flip-flopped on stuff like this before, but positive reinforcement is a winning strategy as ancient as the domestication of the wolf. Maybe give it a shot.

    Comment by anon123 Wednesday, Oct 5, 16 @ 4:09 pm

  24. OK, anon123.
Governor, I positively think you’re the worst governor I’ve ever seen.

Comment by Whatever Wednesday, Oct 5, 16 @ 4:18 pm

  25. Certainly no problem with space.

    Comment by A guy Wednesday, Oct 5, 16 @ 4:25 pm

  26. During what was clearly the most awkward moment of his appearance, Gov. Rauner forgets the lyrics to ‘Total Eclipse of the Heart’ while simultaneously scratching his behind nervously.

    Comment by Cubs in '16 Wednesday, Oct 5, 16 @ 4:52 pm

  27. Rauner remains a complete and utter disappointment. But then perhaps he’s gradually learning that bashing your own state’s economy is…. bad for your state’s economy??

Comment by DuPage Dave Wednesday, Oct 5, 16 @ 5:44 pm

  28. You can keep the turnaround agenda or trade it for what’s behind the curtain

Comment by Rabid Wednesday, Oct 5, 16 @ 11:54 pm

  29. Singing songs about the southland

Comment by Rabid Wednesday, Oct 5, 16 @ 11:59 pm

  30. But, i got my hand on it
