In all seriousness, Rauner leaves office in 18, nothing is done to change the way the state spends money, a tax hike is passed, and nothing is done to make the state more appealing to businesses, people looking for a place to move to and people seriously considering fleeing the perpetual mess.

We want what we want, but we don’t want to pay for what we want. It will take strong leadership to lead the public to the sensible realization that Illinois needs new revenue. It will take strong leadership to enact progressive new revenue streams. Am I the only person who sees nobody capable of exerting the required leadership?
