The 2016 World Champion Chicago Cubs: being a season ticket holder, going to Game 5 at Wrigley (the start of our three game winning streak), our family being all together to watch Game 7 and the celebration, and all our family wearing our Cubs gear at Thanksgiving this Thursday.   15. I am grateful for the opportunity to stay home with my kids the last six months. I have so enjoyed this time with them being 11 and 7. Big changes are ahead for them, and I got to enjoy them at a very fun age.

  35. Thankful to have worked over almost 30 years in this crazy business and make a decent living while making good friends and lucky to have a wife that tolerates the travel schedule to springfield and has been with me over 25 years after meeting on staff in early 90’s.

    Thankfully for her she is completely out of the business

    The Illinois Supreme Court for defending my pension so that I won’t lose the only income I have and counted on after giving up my profession and am now too old to work.

My wife and my son — and my faith (nurtured by my late mom) which reminds me, in times of cultural or personal despair, that the God who created me works on a canvas that is billions of years old and his love for us all is stronger than any single moment in history, no matter how bleak things may look this month.

  53. A friend shared with me yesterday a very touching read about how we should be grateful for problems and how it keeps our perspective in check with what’s really important. So I guess I would have to say I am thankful for Senate Bill 2814! :-)
