However, due to the tornadoes that tragically tore through Illinois, Rauner canceled his meeting with Chance. Rightfully and understandably so. Our thoughts and prayers go out to those families who were affected. But as of now it appears the Governor has no plans to reschedule his meeting with Chance, where Chance planned to discuss funding for education in Chicago — a very serious issue.
Not true, I’m told. The governor’s people reached out to Chance’s people about setting a new date.

The Governor is traveling the state to survey the damage of the deadly tornados that hit this week. He is meeting with families who lost their homes and thanking first responders for their service. He looks forward to hearing from Chance and we have reached out to his team to reschedule our meeting.

How Chance and Chance’s Crew can “misconstrue” a commitment to meeting… that’s on the Governor.
Are they saying Chance and his Associate are … “mistaken”?

I would hope that Chance would call his bluff and take a drive down to wherever the Governor is right now.
It’s about time someone stepped up to play the Governor’s hand and not just fold. Maybe someone outside of professional politics would have the sense to do it.

To those of you dismissing the meeting with Chance as frivolous, you must be unaware of how immensely popular he is right now. Also, he comes from a family that knows their way around Chicago politics. Chance ain’t no dummy.

I think what most people are missing is that Chance wants to talk about the City of Chicago, not the state as a whole. Considering Chance is well loved by many in his home city including myself, I think his talks with the gov can be insightful as he is sick of the violence and lack of school funding as we are.

Yeah, they should have known a handful of tornados were going to rip through multiple parts of the State forcing them to put off the meeting a couple days…
