An attorney for U.S. Rep. Adam Kinzinger has written Comcast Cable demanding it not air the conservative Club for Growth’s negative ad against the Republican lawmaker.
The ad calls Kinzinger a “professional politician” who won’t support President Donald Trump’s bid to get rid of Obamacare. Kinzinger, now in his fourth term, is from Channahon, near Joliet.
His attorney, John Fogarty Jr. of Chicago, wrote in a letter to Comcast on Thursday that the ad was “blatantly false” and that Kinzinger’s support for Trump’s repeal-and-replace plan is “exceptionally well documented.” […]
For his part, Kinzinger said in a statement that Club for Growth’s agenda included ending coverage for people with pre-existing conditions and dropping kids from their parents’ insurance plans. He said its plan is to achieve savings by relying on states to cut services to the poor, something the lawmaker said the Illinois legislature will never do.

The spot cites an April 6th story in the Kennebec Journal & Morning Standard for its claim that Kinzinger is “is in the way” of passing a bill . Kennebec is in Maine.

In addition to Poliquin, The Huffington Post reported that the seven other Republicans who visited the White House were Reps. Greg Walden of Oregon, Chris Collins of New York, Rodney Davis and Adam Kinzinger of Illinois, Tom MacArthur of New Jersey, Martha McSally of Arizona,and Pat Tiberi of Ohio.

House Republicans still don’t have a deal to revive their health care bill, but the White House is laying the groundwork for negotiations to move quickly, meeting individually Monday with moderates and conservatives to discuss a possible agreement. […]
On Monday, for roughly an hour and a half, the White House hosted a meeting with House Energy and Commerce Chairman Greg Walden (R-Ore.) and seven moderate Republicans from the Tuesday Group who had already supported the health care legislation ― Chris Collins (N.Y.), Rodney Davis (Ill.), Adam Kinzinger (Ill.), Tom MacArthur (N.J.), Martha McSally (Ariz.), Bruce Poliquin (Me.) and Pat Tiberi (Ohio) ― to make sure potential changes wouldn’t lose their votes.
Those lawmakers met with Vice President Mike Pence, chief of staff Reince Priebus, Office of Management and Budget Director Mick Mulvaney and Andrew Bremberg, the director of White House domestic policy.
Collins, who said last week that he didn’t think Republicans could pass a health care bill until 2019, reported Monday that he had newfound optimism.

Does he do work for the ILGOP?
See, the reason I ask, Mike Kasper seems to be a red flag that “Madigan supports this, Madigan doesn’t want that”
So, if that IS the standard, is the ILGOP, funded by Bruce Rauner, also isn’t for “Repeal and Replace” and shouldn’t “Trump Supporters” all over Illinois know?
As a big fan of Kinzinger, in an adjacent district to me, I know he has a record that has the best interest of his district, state and the country while serving in Congress. This ad is something Rauner would do to others, so now we’re seeing this Rauner style tactic used on a well-respected Republican congressman here in “Blue Illinois” (ugh)

I have a problem with his support of Trumpcare. Not only would it throw millions off of healthcare, it would exacerbate the State’s financial problems by cutting Medicaid funding.

Republicans are stuck between being ineffective coldhearts (Ryan group) and complete monsters (Freedom Caucus). One group wants to take away health insurance from 24 million people, make costs balloon for the elderly but give tax credits. The other wants people to eat dirt and get no help at all.
I saw an apt cartoon recently. A sick person was in a hospital bed with a Republican elephant in a suit standing next to her. The Republican told her she’ll still be covered if the ACA is repealed. In the next panel, the Republican is shoveling dirt on her grave.

… and I seem to remember Rauner funding the ILGOP, oh, and Diana Rauner too, almost exclusively… and that other fella… (snaps fingers) Kasper… Kasper is saddled with Madigan… I guess I’m just curious… If Fogarty, Jr. is free-lancing here or… I mean… that Kasper fellas doesn’t have that kind of luxury. (smokes cigar)

Political ads are often misleading and sometimes outright lies. Why does Kinzinger think he can do anything about it? Other politicians are slammed all the time and they can NOT make media pull the ads, some court ruled something about censoring political ads is not allowed.

The Rep was like a lot of his peers, generally for Repeal and Replace, but not for the extreme version of Replace that the Club for Growth supported. Glad he’s calling them out on that.

Adam can defend himself at a townhall meeting.. Ohh wait he doesn’t hold those. Even though he insulted the previous person who held his office for not having them. Can’t stand this guy. If you havent watched his facebook q&a from a few weeks ago you should do so. His level of arrogance and snide remarks are off the charts.
