Madigan’s Tax Hike Puppets
Pawar, Pritzker, Kennedy and Biss Want Tax Hikes Without Reform

Democratic candidates for Governor are working overtime to court Mike Madigan’s support, meeting with Madigan insiders and conversing with the Speaker himself.

They’re even going so far as to copy his tax hike agenda.

Pawar, Pritzker, Kennedy and Biss want to raise your taxes without reform, just like Madigan.

  1. Come on guys… what about the Downstate superintendent?

  2. This race will be about money but it will mainly be about issues. Most people don’t understand politics but they do understand high taxes.

  3. For the IDP, it’s like going up against a good pitcher who does you a favor and tells you ahead of time what kind of pitch and where it is going: to the Madigan corner of the plate. For Rauner, it’s like striking someone out who won’t take the bat off their shoulder.

Here’s a sample response: when I say I met with Mike Madigan, you can be assured I did. When Rauner says it, as he did election night, you can’t be sure he’s telling the truth.

  4. Perhaps counter with Rauner wants to raise your taxes and lower your standard of living which is exactly what Rauner’s phony reforms would do.

  5. It’s a winning campaign ad. When are the Dems going to figure out their winning campaign ad?

  6. A democrat running for govenor is not to have any relationship with the leader of their own party? What kind of symbiotic relationship does GOP/Rauner have?

Comment by Rabid Monday, Apr 17, 17 @ 10:27 am

  7. Kind of cheap to use the sign from the Trump rally that seeks his tax returns “Taxes Please” in this video to claim Biss is asking for more taxes. Oh who’m I kidding - it’s all cheap.

  8. The images of JB just scream “Fat Cat”. There is a theme being developed around all of them that they better find a way to get in front of or it really will be over before it starts. The folks who are doing this electronic media know exactly what to do and how to do it.

Your analysis is forever tied to your hopes. It’s adorable.

  10. Does the ILGOP count Rauner as one of them?

  11. Donald Trump and Bruce Rauner’s wealth allow them to be independent of special interest. J.B. Pritzker’s wealth (which drawfs them both) somehow does not allow for this.

  12. Ars, compose an opposing thesis or pipe down. My analysis has nothing to do with “hope”. The digital team is cleaning the clocks of these guys and creating unflattering images that will stick if someone doesn’t get out there and define their image themselves. That’s what’s happening dude. Open your eyes.

  13. Pritzker and Kennedy merely stated facts.

Sorry, don’t take orders from you. Is this a good video? It’s fine, I’m sure. I dunno, I have the worst sense for political ads. But it’s not going to end the election for Rauner *today*. No video could, not for any candidate in any race. And you know I’m right, that’s why you immediately backed off of that idea when I challenged it.

  15. ==And you know I’m right, that’s why you immediately backed off of that idea when I challenged it.==

Not sure when that happened. lol. No video is going to clinch the title here. What all of them do is create an ongoing and evolving narrative along the way.

Changing a mind is much harder to do than getting in their first when people are making up their minds. All these videos and ads stack up over time. Subliminally, people will remember a small portion of what they’ve heard until the time when they’re really paying attention (about 4 weeks out from an election) Nearly 100% of what they’ve heard about any of these chaps…has come from the opposition thus far. The rich guys have no excuse.

Right there, that’s when it happened.

You go from reacting to the video with “this race might be over before it starts!” to “No one video is going to end the race.”

I know you don’t see how big and quick of an about-face that is. I know. But that’s a You Problem.
