DEPUTY GOVERNOR LESLIE MUNGER JOINS ILLINOIS TOLLWAY TO GIVE AWAY TREE SEEDLINGS AT LAKE FOREST OASIS TO CELEBRATE ARBOR DAY
WHAT: The Illinois Tollway is celebrating Arbor Day by giving away 7,500 tree seedlings and 7,500 pollinator seed packets to customers at its headquarters and oases throughout the Tollway system. Deputy Governor Leslie Munger and Tollway Executive Director Greg Bedalov will be helping distribute tree seedlings and seed packets at the Lake Forest Oasis.

WHO: Deputy Governor Leslie Munger
Illinois Tollway Executive Director Greg BedalovWHY: Talk with Deputy Governor Munger and Tollway Executive Director Bedalov about Illinois’ emphasis on limiting the environmental impacts of roadway construction and other capital projects to protect and enhance natural landscapes. The Tollway is committed to expanding the tree canopy coverage along its 292-mile system and has created a pollinator program to restore and sustain habitat for monarch butterflies and other important pollinators.

No caption, just info. IDOT has also been giving a lot of seedlings away, too. Last year the State Tree Nursery was closed because of the budget thingee. This year, it’s open and selling trees until May 15th. Don’t know if these came from there or not.

In shield just make like a tree and leave Leslie alone, but the roots are deep to good caption comedy, and branching out to have some good fun here kindles the creative fires.
Would I normally pass up a picture like this, arbitrarily, no, so I’ll just leave some shade, and move on.
