New Pritzker robocalls slam House Republicans, defend House Democrats

Posted in:

* I’m told by the Pritzker campaign that there will be additional calls into Senate districts later this week. Press release…

Today, the Pritzker campaign released new robo calls targeting Republican and Democratic districts across the state. They aim to make it clear that Bruce Rauner is holding the state budget hostage while corporations line their pockets and working families suffer. The robo calls are part of the multimedia Crisis Creatin’ Rauner campaign, holding Rauner accountable for this crisis of his own making and the families, schools, and social service agencies that continue to pay the price.

The statewide robo calls will target all of the same Democratic districts that the Illinois GOP hit in their latest robo call and will also target the following Republican districts: HD-41 [Wehrli], HD-42 [Ives], HD-45 [Winger], HD-61 [Jesiel], HD-68 [Cabello], HD-71 [McCombie], HD-76 [Long], HD-79 [Parkhurst], HD-81 [Olsen], HD-95 [Bourne], HD-97 [Batinick], HD-99 [Wojcicki Jimenez], HD-115 [Bryant], HD-117 [Severin].

“The ILGOP has run unchecked distraction campaigns for years to hide Bruce Rauner’s staggering failures, but not anymore. Illinois families deserve to know why Bruce Rauner has failed to pass a budget for three years in a row as he drives this state into the ground,” said Pritzker campaign communications director Galia Slayen. “Bruce Rauner continues to blame everyone but himself for this manufactured crisis, but the truth is this has been his plan all along. While Rauner holds this state hostage for his special interest agenda, we will continue to hold Rauner accountable for the damage he inflicts every day.”

The list of Democratic districts can be seen by clicking here.

Hi I’m Susan with JB for Governor.

Did you know Illinois has broken a record?

We’re the only state that has gone this long without a budget… over 700 days.

For the third year in a row, Bruce Rauner is holding this state hostage and Republicans in the legislature are blindly following. They aren’t serving us. They’re letting corporations, insurance companies and wealthy CEOs line their pockets while the rest of us pay the price.

Tell Republicans it’s past time to do their job and negotiate. Illinois deserves a budget.

Hi, I’m Susan with JB for Governor.

For over 700 days, Bruce Rauner has failed to do his job and pass a budget for the people of Illinois.

Schools are scraping by, domestic violence shelters are closing, and Illinois is over $14 billion in debt. But Bruce Rauner continues to hold the state hostage for his right wing agenda.

Democrats have tried to reach across the aisle to get a state budget passed while also protecting the services so many families rely on, but Bruce Rauner continues to stand up for corporations and the wealthy, even while Illinois families pay the price.

Call the governor at 217-782-0244 and tell him enough is enough. It is time for him to do his job and negotiate a fair budget for Illinois.

Paid for by JB for Governor.

  2. Until the Pritzker Crew can get past the Blago stain and move forward from it by swamping the message or lay out and chop up each point…

… this is fool’s gold for Dems looking for cover. Sadly.

    This is exactly, to a T, what I feel IS the Prizker Comm Crew;

Give them the time, simplicity of a hard hitting message that can resonate, they are exceptional at the messaging aspect of the campaign, top flight stuff

The glaring and obvious hole that the Pritzker Campaign and Comm Crew has is truly understanding rapid response, and handling their own oppo in a way to maximize where Pritzker’s Comm Crew excels, well-prepared and thoughtful messaging, that has had time for preparation.

These robocalls… They are a prime example for me… and another piled on example to make these points.

So, until they figure out how to get their own Crew and Candidate in order, it’s fool’s gold that might not be around come next April.

  5. The picture of Rauner they are using seems to be sneering at their message. Maybe the “deer in the headlights” Rauner would have been a better image to pair with this message.

  11. I wonder if JB will be able to get endorsements from the House members he just stood up for? Call it awful, not working, whatever, it is a show that hits home the point- I will protect you.

This all day. We could bust on JB over whether this is effective or not, whether he’s the best messenger, etc., but it’s a whole heck of a lot more public political support than has been offered by the Madigan led party apparatus. Illinois Dems either can’t - or won’t - try to force MJM to step down from the party chair (no matter how ineffective he has become lately) so they’ll probably be overjoyed to have some cover for a change.

  15. Now I am not a Fox New conspiracy person, but……Maybe the Governor is being paid by the Kochs Brothers et all to make sure Illinois does not have a budget. Look at the Presidential elections map, Illinois Blue in a growing mid-west sea of red. Wouldn’t it be nice is so injured, its reputation so destroyed that its neutralized? After 700 days….just sayin’

  16. I think the calls are awesome.

They would be even better if they connected angry voters to their GOP State Rep.

Good thing the real deal, the Grand Bargains were started in the Senate…Until Rauner blew them up, and not cornering Madigan, when Rauner could.

Why didn’t Rauner want a Senate deal, lol…

    - Lucky Pierre -, you are comically sad to false narratives.

  19. False narrative?

The robocalls target House Republicans and say the Democrats reached out to them
