  1. No “Dewey Defeats Truman” — but pretty bad.

Bet they wouldn’t misspell Rauner ;-)

Comment by Perrid Wednesday, Jun 7, 17 @ 9:10 am

  3. I’m awaiting a headline about “Governor Ruiner.” Any day now.

Comment by Linus Wednesday, Jun 7, 17 @ 9:14 am

  4. As we all know, extraneous Ks were employed by southern businesses as a signal to segregationists that they shared goals. Thus, the Trib is probably just acting out of an abundance of caution.

Odds are today, I’ll make quite a few typos.

    I’m not a newspaper. So there’s that too…

  9. Who’s this “Pritzer” fella? Never heard of him…

Comment by Shamrockery Wednesday, Jun 7, 17 @ 9:18 am

  10. If Rauner ever says his name — he won’t, but if he does — this is how he’ll say it.

Especially when he’s wearing Carhartt and standing in a downstate diner holding a plate of pancakes. He’ll drop the ‘G’ on purpose.

    Comment by Mr. K. Wednesday, Jun 7, 17 @ 9:18 am

  11. Kinda like the insistence by some on the right of calling it the Democrat Party.

Comment by Gruntled University Employee Wednesday, Jun 7, 17 @ 9:18 am

    Comment by Reese's Pieces Wednesday, Jun 7, 17 @ 9:18 am

  13. Here, and I thought I’d missed a great story of the AFL-CIO rescinding their endorsement and the Trib failing to cover, only to find it was about a missing 0.00001 fluid oz. of newsprint.

Comment by Six Degrees of Separation Wednesday, Jun 7, 17 @ 9:20 am

    Comment by A guy Wednesday, Jun 7, 17 @ 9:23 am

  25. Just making sure Rauner can claim Pritzker photoshopped it when he uses the headline in a commercial

Comment by Biker Wednesday, Jun 7, 17 @ 9:53 am

  26. This K-ontroversy made me think of the very underrated performance Eddie Murphy gives in Steve Martin’s BOWFINGER as a paranoid movie actor, who counts up all the K’s in his latest movie script and they are evenly divisible by 3 and a conspiracy theory is born… The movie is hilarious.

Comment by 32nd Ward Roscoe Village Wednesday, Jun 7, 17 @ 10:04 am

  27. Everything they do is designed to help Rauner. Whether it’s blowing up property tax system (which is a mess) at a time when the Gov is hanging his hat on property taxes or misspelling Pritzker or using a overweight tuxedo picture of Pritzker. There are no coincidences or mistakes.
And if any of the other candidates emerge as a threat to Bruce they will get the same treatment. I know, I know I have a tinfoil hat but at some point we have to call it. The Trib has zero credibility and is stacking the deck.

Comment by Chicago Cynic Wednesday, Jun 7, 17 @ 10:15 am

  33. What’s going on with the graphic in the masthead?

You have the Hancock Building at dead center, with Sears Tower to the right, Trump Tower to the left and the lake in the foreground.

The troncloydytes are entitled to their own scatter-brained opinions, but not their own geography.

Comment by wordslinger Wednesday, Jun 7, 17 @ 10:24 am

  34. So what? The K wouldn’t fit. Would you rather we dropped the Z instead?

    Sheesh.

Comment by Wallinger Dickus Wednesday, Jun 7, 17 @ 10:28 am

  35. Who is this Pritzer character? I know Pritzker is running for governor.

Comment by Levois Wednesday, Jun 7, 17 @ 10:36 am

  36. Maybe this explains the extra “K” that the Trib adds to the name of their page two columnist.
