Yep. Things are going just great

* From the Illinois Policy Institute’s news service

“My chief of staff is meeting with the chiefs of staff of all the legislative leaders right now, trying to move this forward to get a balanced budget,” Rauner said. “We are working seven days a week. We will never give up, but the issue is we’ve got to change the system.” […]

Steve Brown, spokesman for House Speaker Mike Madigan, D-Chicago, said there were no developments at the meeting. When there are, Brown said, Madigan will call lawmakers back to Springfield. […]

Rauner said the Democrat majority is purposefully not sending an agreed-upon and balanced budget because they’re trying to damage him politically.

“They want chaos. They want mayhem,” Rauner said. “They’re happy to hurt whoever they need to hurt. […]

Brown dismissed Rauner’s comments as “incompetent babble.”

Sigh.

  1. Psychological projection is a theory in psychology in which humans defend themselves against their own unconscious impulses or qualities (both positive and negative) by denying their existence in themselves while attributing them to others.

  5. That pivot yesterday from Rauner is very noteworthy. It’s the DEMS who “WANT CHAOS.” As Rauner enter the “I know you are but what am I” part of his re-election campaign.

  7. Rauner and his little world of Yes men around hI’m probably do think that things are going great.

He honestly thinks that this recent mess is the solution. He is a wack job with money and nobody around him will tell him that.

He thinks protestors are wrong and he is right.

  9. Brown, it’s not incompetent babble. Rauner continues to play you guys like a drum in the public square and your response is non-existent,

Now Rauner is blaming you for his own misanthropic actions and objectives. And you’re letting him get away with it.

    So who’s incompetent? Or lazy?

  11. =Rauner said the Democrat majority is purposefully not sending an agreed-upon and balanced budget because they’re trying to damage him politically.=

    Umm, no.

Bruce, you and your Bro-quarium may want to give the Illinois Constitutions a thorough re-read.

Have a dictionary handy if need be.

The governor is supposed to send a balanced budget TO the ILGA. Not the other way around (of course they shouldn’t make a balanced budget unbalanced either).

The rest is pure career politician style BS.

  12. Just for some revisionist history, who said….”Crisis creates opportunity. Crisis creates leverage to change…and we’ve got to use that leverage of the crisis to force structural change.”

Now crisis=chaos or mayhem. The man simply does not want a solution to this mess he’s created.

  14. This is how this will roll.

    IPI News service reports…

Rauner Radio and Rauner editorial radio chimes in…

Proft newspapers “report”, then will “editorialize”…

Tribune Editorial Board gives favorable headline…

Radio ads begin… Television ads follow…

Democrats silently watch all this happen.

    Vertical integration of…

Richard Goldberg would be Hedley LaMarr and Art Turner or Donne Trotter can play Sheriff Bart.

Add Cullerton as the Waco Kid and Madigan as Mongo and it practically writes itself.

I don’t think you’d need to wait so deep in season 3…

    (Wash to memory visuals)

    HBO - “Dad’s Home State” - Season 3, Episode 34

Bruce practices talking in circles, gets so caught up in practicing incompetent babble, gets light headed and faints. Diana sees Bruce faint as his desk, runs to get a glass of water, returning back to Bruce and then drinking the water herself until Bruce wakes. Diana’s State Employee tells fellow employee Incompetent Babble is really a tribute band that does Fleetwood Mac covers. Lance tweets pictures of the tribute band Incompetent Babble to Rep. Lang, “ck” releases a press release of Rauner tour stops in conjunction with “Incompetent Babble” dive bar dates, Goldberg writes a letter to all Chiefs of Staffs inviting them to a meeting during “Incompetent Babble” bar gig, “cash bar” noted. Comedy, 68 minutes.

  33. Anonymous: Come on. You act as if Rauner swore an oath to uphold the constitution…

Also funny that the constitution mentions state colleges and universities. But nothing a little white-out can’t fix.

  34. “If Rauner is Mel Brooks, who is Harvey Korman, and who is Cleavon Little?”

Mongo may have hit the nail square on the head. In Blazing Saddles, Mel Brooks played Governor Le Pétomane. Le Pétomane was the stage name of a French flatulist. Look it up on Wiki, hilarious.

HBO Marketing is really supportive. I’ll pass on your thoughts, if they decide it’s a go, I’ll send you one.

I was thinking a blank concert style t-shirt with “Metallica” font, in garbage can van green…
