  4. Ever since Trump got elected, its like every week is 1 dog year.

    Comment by L.A. Monday, Sep 25, 17 @ 4:04 pm

  5. Looks like I picked the wrong week to stop sniffing glue.

    Comment by 47th Ward Monday, Sep 25, 17 @ 4:04 pm

  6. Yeah, but it’s the week the Cubs clinch in St. Louis, after sweeping them last series at home.

    A week to be savored.

  7. It could be Sunday nite, about 11:30pm and dreading “Monday”

It’s so close to Tuesday, now…

  8. Sometimes it just turns out that way.

  10. By Wednesday the Gov will be out McSweenying anyone thinking about a primary. If he cuts any further right, he’ll jump right over Indiana and Ohio to Pennsylvania. Where it will be won’t matter that he was rooting for the Steelers against the Bears.

Comment by Workin' Monday, Sep 25, 17 @ 4:20 pm

  11. Yeah. This is what happens when too much politics enters my recreational activities. Time to turn off the phone and head to the lake.

Comment by Ducky LaMoore Monday, Sep 25, 17 @ 4:20 pm

  12. Yes but based on the law of averages the rest of the week should be smooth sailing. Or not.

    Comment by Cubs in '16 Monday, Sep 25, 17 @ 4:20 pm

  13. Monday is only 14+% of a week.

There’s an 85% chance that these next days won’t be disappointing.

Comment by Oswego Willy Monday, Sep 25, 17 @ 4:24 pm

  14. @wordslinger - you could very well be right this time. Not the kind of year I was expecting from my Cards. Big disappointment.

If you prevail, I’ll be backing the Cubs.

  15. Are you ready for some football?

Comment by GOP Extremist Monday, Sep 25, 17 @ 4:29 pm

  16. illini- It seemed to go downhill for the Cards after Carpenter publicly declared this season felt “magical”. oops

    Comment by Cubs in '16 Monday, Sep 25, 17 @ 4:39 pm

  17. @Cubsin16 - lots of reasons for their failure to meet expectations, and not necessarily excuses. Not certain I can take it back to a particular comment.

Comment by illini Monday, Sep 25, 17 @ 4:47 pm

  18. Just some good-natured ribbing on my part illini. As you can imagine I’ve been on the receiving end for, well, ever since last year. No doubt Cards have underperformed this year. Even so, they are still mathematically in contention for a wildcard spot.

    Comment by Cubs in '16 Monday, Sep 25, 17 @ 4:53 pm

  19. Reminds me — actually, several of today’s posts reminded me — of the song “Let’s Call the Whole Thing Off.”

But I digress. Onward to tomorrow’s exhausting but oh-so-exhilarating rich harvest of this, that, and whatever.

LOL,now there’s that entitled Cards fan that we’ve come to know since LaRussa brought his medical bag of magic to St. Loo.

Comment by wordslinger Monday, Sep 25, 17 @ 5:17 pm

  22. 7th Circuit just ruled another Illinois election law is unconstitutional. The full-slate requirement, which no other state has and which does not apply to Ds and Rs, violates the 1st and 14th Amendments. Lisa Madigan’s office is once again on the wrong side of democracy. Russians were not involved, but the Democrat Party of Illinois sure was.

Comment by Jeff Trigg Monday, Sep 25, 17 @ 5:19 pm

  23. Arsenal 2, West Brom 0.

This week has gotten off to a great start.

Comment by Gooner Monday, Sep 25, 17 @ 5:20 pm

  24. It is a Monday when I found that if I stand for the constitution and defend free speech I must stand for the right of others to kneel during a song.

  25. How many good people will decide not to run each day this week?

Yes, wordslinger, because saying that you will savor your rival’s defeat shows so much maturity and class lol. Double standard much?
