  1. If they ban smoking and cigarette usage declines, what is the plan to make up for the loss in cigarette tax revenue? We need that money for education. Think about the kids. Smoke for the kids.

  2. These smoking arguments are ridiculous. Yes, you can smoke if you want to, that’s your right. But, smoking is unhealthy for others around you. With a ban bars will not go out of business. People will not stop going out at night, and the sky will not fall. New York, California, and others who have a sensible ban in place aren’t falling into economic depression. In fact, there are many of us who would go out more often to a club or bar if I did not have to smell like smoke when I got home. BTW - if cigarette sales decline, heaven forbid, then ostensibly there should be a corresponding reduction (eventually) in health care costs to the state. But I guess if you must smoke, then please, smoke for the kids.

  4. GOP goes after Durbin with ad

Now if they could only go after him with a candidate, this might mean something.

  5. Since the horse slaughtering business in DeKalb is foreign owned, shut it down. Let them go back to Europe and eat their own animals. Also, we do not need someone in Dubai owning an aircraft business in the middle of the airport in Springfield. If Americans don’t own it, shut it down too.
