More women in power means sexual harassment is less likely, Illinois gov candidate @JBPritzker tells @CrainsChicago board

— LynneMarek (@LynneMarek) November 20, 2017

Majority of @JBPritzker's senior campaign staff are women, he says, but not a single female leader at Pritzker Capital https://t.co/9Bnsed5CZE

The only woman listed at that link to his “Investment Team” is a paralegal.

  1. And Rauner had no African Americans in any position at GTCR, still became Governor.

  2. Please clap.

  3. Hypocrite JB

Comment by John Rawlssss Monday, Nov 20, 17 @ 3:05 pm

  4. That’s consistent with the labor unions endorsing JB who also have no women in leadership roles.

Even Citadel has female representation at the top C-level. Maybe JB should call Ken Griffin for EEOC advice.

Comment by City Zen Monday, Nov 20, 17 @ 3:07 pm

  5. I am 100% certain that Betsy Londrigan has her Twitter account fired up and ready to go.

Comment by Curl of the Burl Monday, Nov 20, 17 @ 3:08 pm

  6. Wake up, Pritzker has many of the same gigantic faults as The Phony. He will say anything to get elected, which is not unusual for an ambitious politician. But he has billions to pull the wool over voters eyes. Remind you of anybody?

Comment by Anonymous Monday, Nov 20, 17 @ 3:09 pm

  7. Pritzker is an ardent pro abortion, so I’m sure Londigan is in a pickle.

Comment by Anonymous Monday, Nov 20, 17 @ 3:10 pm

  8. Odd that Marek ignores the women in Pritzker’s other business units which is odd because she wrote a whole story about their asset management unit being run by a woman.

  9. Heh, and he hasn’t released his taxes yet…Things are getting interesting…can you say lip service…?

Comment by Loop Lady Monday, Nov 20, 17 @ 3:48 pm

  10. @CItyzen, while there are few, it’s incorrect to say there are no women in union leadership. Roberta Lynch of AFSCME, Alice Johnson of the nurses, Karen Lewis of CTU.

Comment by Anonymiss Monday, Nov 20, 17 @ 3:48 pm

  11. Next it would be interesting to see if he is paying every intern $15/hr both on the campaign and at the firm.

The last thing the Dem party needs in this fight against rauner (and trump) is a hypocrite spewing lies under the Dem banner.

Comment by BDF Monday, Nov 20, 17 @ 4:10 pm

  12. I thought he did release his taxes.

but happy this post exists so we can get yet another professional piece from Anon0091.

  13. JB is building a multi-ethnic campaign but if you review the Pritzker Group Investment site there are no African Americans working for the group.

Comment by My thoughts Monday, Nov 20, 17 @ 4:22 pm

  14. @BDF -…to see if he is paying every intern $15/hr-

That’s a fair point. But are Biss and Kennedy paying their interns?? The answer is no. Source? Friends who work in both campaigns.

I agree though, interns should be paid.

  15. ===Pritzker is an ardent pro abortion, so I’m sure Londigan is in a pickle===

To be fair, so is Bruce Rauner. What that has to do with Londrigan, I have no idea, but since you can’t even be bothered to pick a nickname I’m guessing your explanation wouldn’t be worth the effort of reading it.

    Comment by Lester Holt’s Mustache Monday, Nov 20, 17 @ 4:23 pm

  16. More women in leadership means less sexual harassment. Mrs. blue is laughing hysterically right now. Just after she gets done with the laundry, cleaning windows, I hope she can cook me some dinner. Good grief.

Comment by blue dog dem Monday, Nov 20, 17 @ 4:23 pm

  17. Pritzker’s drawbacks in the general have largely been ignored or underplayed so far. Connections to Blago & Madigan, being an inexperienced billionaire like Rauner, ToiletGate…Time to stop being blinded by his bucks and start taking his faults seriously.

Comment by Capitol Facts Monday, Nov 20, 17 @ 4:35 pm

  18. Binders, Binders full of women!

Comment by Ahoy! Monday, Nov 20, 17 @ 4:36 pm

  19. Time to elect the woman in the race.
    That will stop it.

Comment by VanillaMan Monday, Nov 20, 17 @ 4:40 pm

  20. Vman. Ives all the way.

Comment by blue dog dem Monday, Nov 20, 17 @ 5:00 pm

  21. @Anonymiss - Those are public sector examples, entirely different from the unions that endorsed JB.

Different types of corporations have females at high levels of leadership. My current employer has a female CIO and my former employer had a female CEO, even though the 2 were entirely different industries. If they can do it, so can JB’s labor buds.

Comment by City Zen Monday, Nov 20, 17 @ 5:05 pm

  22. The Dems have to figure out what is most important. If it is having a war chest to compete with Rauner, than JB is your man. He appears to have a disconnect in that he says one thing and does another. He’s a tax dodger who says we need to raise taxes. He takes the moral high ground, and then we hear him discussing appointments with Blago. And now this, where he wants women well represented, only he hasn’t done it in his own company.

He reminds me more and more of Hilary every day. Do as I say, not as I do. The embodiment of the liberal elite.

Should be fun to watch it play out.

Comment by SSL Monday, Nov 20, 17 @ 5:11 pm

  23. And don’t let him tell you that there’s a lack of qualified women in venture capital/private equity in Chicago. Not true.

Comment by Arthur Andersen Monday, Nov 20, 17 @ 5:23 pm

  24. Could sting in the primary. Rauner won’t be able to use it in the general. He had the same “problem” at GTCR. Plus, he couldn’t find any black or Hispanic people to hire either, in Chicago.

Comment by wordslinger Monday, Nov 20, 17 @ 5:32 pm

  25. Interesting. Feels like JB is starting to tread water. Coming out as a candidate so soon and saturating the internet and airwaves for months means he’s no longer the bright shiny penny. He’s old news and his negatives big and small, fair or unfair, are starting to dull that penny as the stories show up in the media.

  26. jb is making Kennrdy look better each day

  27. Quite frankly, I don’t care what claimed sexual orientation or ethnic or racial group someone belongs to. For me, the only question is: is that the best person available for the job?

Comment by RNUG Monday, Nov 20, 17 @ 9:13 pm

  28. RNUG - Welcome to the 1990’s.

Comment by City Zen Monday, Nov 20, 17 @ 9:53 pm

  29. JB gots all kinds of women and minorities working for him, stop by the local Hyatt and see for yourself. They probably arent gonna get promoted and help him with policy decisions though?
