  1. Pat Quinn being in the race will help solidify support around Kwame. Will it be enough though? It costs a lot of money to build name ID. Money that the Speaker would like held for his Battle Royal with Rauner this November.

  2. Labor is so afraid of Pat Quinn that they’re willing to endorse the architect of SB1? What a strange time in Illinois politics.

Or the state party apparatus is so afraid of what he would do to their ticket that they are willing to ask labor to hold their noses and support the candidate best positioned to keep that from happening.

  4. Labor isn’t so much afraid of Quinn…”tired of” and “despise” maybe.

There is a world of difference between Raoul and Biss on SB 1.

Biss was barnstorming town halls and editorial board meetings calling for pension theft and making a name for himself.

Raoul was the reluctant choice of Senator Cullerton, drafted to serve on the conference committee, who cheered when the courts overturned SB 1, as I suspect he knew they would. Remember, it was Cullerton’s attorney that drafted the memo outlining why Pension raiding was unconstitutional. Raoul used the Madair memo almost like a how-to manual to design a bill that would be obviously unconstitutional.

  5. What Juvenal said.

Quinn’s name recognition will be tough to overcome in two months though.

Isn’t intentionally breeching the Constitution a violation of his oath of office?

  7. I think it’s funny that party Dems are afraid of the man who brought you Squeezy.

Sadly, that is exactly what’s going on here.
