With the first commission disbanded, the legislature authorized creation of the Capital Punishment Reform Study Committee, a group that will evaluate the success of implementing the proposed improvements. A final report is due to the General Assembly by late 2008.

  1. I am no supporter of Obama, but his wife being forced to step down shows how demented the anti-Wal Marters are. If this is an issue, it is sad. This is a bigger issue than her being given a job that has multiplied her salary by 3 shortly after his election? Hey, maybe she didn’t need the money anyway, but this move is silly.

  5. Bikes ought to give cars a three foot buffer as they hurtle through intersections without stopping for the Sign or the light.

    The three foot buffer on each side plus the width of the bike will surely reduce vehicle speed on many city streets. Out in Northbrook, there are wide streets and wide lanes.
