Is Sean Casten going to provide the address? We should all drop in for coffee to discuss the hot issues in the Il-6 primary. (I assume they will provide decaf?)

They steal signs all the time in Chicago and much more which is why we don’t put out any more signs

Anon - I happen to have inside knowledge, and it was not an inside job. (Judy Casten is just an awesome person. And at the risk of trying to buy votes, I believe she would provide cookies as well as coffee, if you’re interested in talking about the issues that matter most to Democratic voters in the 6th District.)

I stole a yard sign once. A mail carrier named Chuck Norris was running in a race for alderman and I was coveting his signs. I waited until a few hours before the election started, because I didn’t want to negatively affect the race. I cherish that sign, lol.

Signs in the parkway? Rookie mistake that’s officially village property. IDOT takes signs out of the parkway constantly. Maybe he should call the village?

As a resident of the 6th district, and seeing all the negativity of the Gubernatorial race, and being in Winfield Township and seeing all the Minor, Breen etal nonsense going on, It feels good that at least somebody with positive character is out there

The sign looks like it’s in the part of the front yard between the sidewalk and the street. Where I live, it’s not considered a public right of way and signs placed there are private property.
Add me to the people who are loving Mrs. Casten’s enchanting response.

Here anything from the sidewalk to the street is public property (until it’s time to maintain it!). So the pictured signs would be fair game.
But the second sign is a nice innovative approach …

RE sign stealing …
The church I attend near my house is a polling place for multiple precincts, so there are always lots of signs in the public right of way all around the church property. After the polls close, those signs that haven’t been picked up end up in the church dumpster.
I’ve gone dumpster diving to retrieve specific signs …

In Hinsdale, the right-of-way includes the sidewalks and everything in between, and the Sign Ordinance forbids signs in the rights-of-way.

Sometimes after an event or large fundraiser at a banquet type place you can get your sign fix too
I have the “Bat”inick sign, which is quite choice… I’d like an Ives for Governor sign to bookend the other sign I have of hers.
I’ll go in two weeks to start scoping the median signs screaming to be liberated.

Wow, those public works employees in Hinsdale must be tremendously dedicated. They’re out in the middle of the night, clearing away yard signs. Color me impressed!
