Pritzker campaign has some fun with “National Blame Someone Else Day”

Posted in:

* Background

NATIONAL BLAME SOMEONE ELSE DAY

National Blame Someone Else Day is always celebrated on the first Friday the 13th of the year.

The way to celebrate is self-explanatory in the name, and not much more needs to be said. If you do not want to blame someone, put the blame on something (remember, it is all in fun!)

HOW TO OBSERVE

Use #BlameSomeoneElseDay to post on social media.

HISTORY

National Blame Someone Else Day was invented by Anne Moeller of Clio, Michigan in 1982. One day, her alarm clock failed to go off, hence creating a domino effect of bad luck events throughout the day. The day happened to be Friday the 13th.

* Press release…

Today is Bruce Rauner’s favorite holiday: National Blame Someone Else Day. To celebrate the joyous occasion, we compiled the greatest hits of Rauner blaming everyone but himself for his failures as governor:

“Every day is national blame someone else day for Bruce Rauner, a failed leader not in charge of the state,” said Pritzker campaign spokesman Jason Rubin. “No matter the crisis he causes, the agency he mismanages, and the damage he does, it’s clear Rauner will never take responsibility for his abundant failures as governor.”

Who do you blame today?

  1. Bruce Rauner for getting no property tax relief from Mike Madigan.

    Jim Edgar got the Property Tax Cap back in the early 1990’s.

    Rauner got nothing.

  7. Who do I blame? Madigan, of course.

    Comment by JoanP Friday, Apr 13, 18 @ 9:55 am

  8. That’s right. In Illinois, we afix the blame for all of our problems exactly where they belong - at the feet of the failure of a governor who has been in office since 2015, and never at the door of those who have been in charge for decades. They had nothing to do you it.

    Comment by JB13 Friday, Apr 13, 18 @ 9:55 am

  9. It should go without saying, Madigan, today and everyday.

    I blame the calendar for Rauner not doing things.

    The days and months and years kept going. That’s not Rauner’s fault.

    Comment by Oswego Willy Friday, Apr 13, 18 @ 10:04 am

  14. I remember Madigan saying if Rauner was unhappy with workers compensation legislation that was in the GA at the time, he would amend it. I trust more that Madigan would keep his word and work with Rauner than Rauner and his pathological lyin’.

    Again, Rauner was a corporate chairperson. He’s supposed to get things done, make things happen. He failed miserably at having the conservative value of taking responsibility for his work and the buck stopping at his desk.

    Comment by Grandson of Man Friday, Apr 13, 18 @ 10:07 am

  15. I blame Blago for almost making me take two extra ISAT exams years ago

    I blame Schock for my friends and I being single for about 4 years

    I blame a whole lot of people for not selecting Judy Baar Topinka for Governor in 2006

    Because maybe if she would have won we wouldn’t be in the mess we are

  18. I blame myself and everyone who allowed our elected officials to skip pension payments and run up bills to state vendors over decades. Bruce Rauner is by no means unique in the way he has run up the bills we’ll have to pay off, but he’s the only one who will be on my ballot in November.
