Former House Republican leader Tom Cross moderates a City Club of Chicago panel featuring former state GOP chairman Pat Brady and conservative radio host Dan Proft.
Those two guys really do not like each other.

Today, the JB Pritzker campaign released a new digital video, “Governor Without a Party,” highlighting Bruce Rauner’s fractured Republican party.
Months after barely winning the Republican primary, Rauner has stumbled from crisis to crisis, failing to unite his party behind his failed agenda. The new video features Rauner’s primary challenger, Jeanne Ives, attacking the governor for his failed leadership and reporters discussing the ongoing party rift.
“Bruce Rauner’s party is fractured beyond repair as he stumbles into a general election running on a record of crisis and damage,” said Pritzker campaign spokeswoman Jordan Abudayyeh. “It is clear to Illinoisans of all political stripes that Bruce Rauner is a failure, and it will take a lot more than desperate attempts to dodge accountability and shallow gestures towards unity to bring his party back together.”

Brady says party was great, especially when he led it, and extremes are bad for party, goes after Proft.
Proft retorts, talks working for Daniels as Speaker, talks Colson, need to stand for something.
Hilarity ensues.
They attack each other, neither sees other as partner, but needed partner, but the other needs to get in line… F-Bomb… Trunp isn’t all bad, Rauner is/isn’t an anchor on ILGOP… future leaders… can’t agree on who is what… they both like Harold… Chicago ceded, Proft blames Brady and his… Proft can’t see any of his wanting to run in Chicago either…
No hand shake… “who won the raffle”… party not unified…

Just Sayin’ has summarized it perfectly. Brady’s hypocrisy is unbelievable. And Brady said he never said anything about wanting Proft out of the party. Ummm, did he see himself on WGN news the night of the election? Maybe Rauner should make Brady apologize for what he said that night and subsequently about conservatives and Ives supporters.

I would say Brady “won” in that Dan Proft could not contain his anger, dropping an F bomb and “pound sand.” I did find it interesting when it came to states that we could model after, Brady picked MA and Dan picked FL.

Proft swearing is what gave the debate to Brady. His F bomb and pound sand comment just shows how much hate the man has for anyone who disagrees with him. But what was even more childish,is when he threatened Brady about disclosing stories he told on the golf course. It just showed what a snake he really is. It also showed how filled of hate the likes of Proft and people like Ives are.

Proft weakened himself by getting so worked up about everything. The greatest tragedy of the principles he espouses is that they have yet to find an effective salesman, one that doesn’t sound like a complete lunatic to the middle voter.

Long Time R - I thought quite the opposite. As someone else mentioned, did anyone see Brady the night of the election and his disgust for Proft and the Ives followers? If anyone is filled with hate, it is Brady. All he does is go after Proft time after time after time. It’s like Rauner with Madigan. Proft must be so tired of defending himself.

To add, Proft still doesn’t understand what was wrong with the transgender bathroom ad. This is just more proof that he simply doesn’t get it when it comes to understanding the electorate and creating a winning strategy from it. He lacks voter empathy, at least to the voters that decide elections in IL.

This is also a “my bad” moment, as Proft is first a grifter than an ideologue. In actuality, Proft said that himself.
I got caught up in the fight, without going back and realizing who is fighting for what, and the “who” on both sides is funding this.
