Alleged victim appears on Proft’s radio show

Posted in:

* As I’ve already told subscribers, Dan Proft scored a big scoop this morning. The woman who plans to hold a press conference at one o’clock this afternoon with Rep. Jeanne Ives and Denise Rotheimer appeared on his WIND radio show today. From Proft…

EXCLUSIVE: Springfield Sexual Harassment Victim Speaks Out

“It’s a certified terrible frat house,” is the way a sexual harassment victim coming forward today describes Springfield.

The woman, who will only identify herself as “M,” joined Dan Proft and Amy for an exclusive interview detailing the sexual harassment allegations she will make against a leading state legislator. “This has gone on probably for the last four to five years where I’ve been harassed and blackballed and threatened” she shared.

  1. The audio quality is terrible. She can hardly be heard.

  2. I agree with the commentator that said this smells like Geraldo’s Al Capone vaults, just an endless stream of “I’m going to name names. This is really big.” Hucksterism, that’s what it smells like and when the blow-off comes I won’t believe it. This is not how real victims behave.

  3. =Springfield Sexual Harassment Victim Speaks Out=

How does that square with =“This is abuse of power,” [Rotheimer] said, adding the abuse was not a form of sexual harassment.=

  4. I wonder if it’s really a “big scoop” or whether Proft is just part-and-parcel of the planned rollout?

  5. Weird that DR and Profit can’t get their story straight.

  6. I do love the thought of sleazy men losing sleep last night, running through in their minds all the times they acted like pigs, and wondering if tomorrow will be the day they are finally called out.

  7. I’m on the edge of my seat…

  8. Anything associated with Rotheimer is grounds for skepticism. She is not a reliable narrator.

I do not intend to diminish the seriousness of the issue, but it would have been better if the unnamed source had selected a better spokesperson.

  9. This lost all legitimacy once Proft got involved. Not to mention Ives. Very much strikes me as a big, partisan nothing-burger.

  10. Leadership? This could get interesting.

  11. well, I wait to see what she has to say about whomever. and while I do agree that Springfield has generally made me uncomfortable and wary as a woman, virtually all of what she describes on that call is behavior that is not sexual in nature. bullying maybe, but “bills buried in house rules….” come on. everyone has been there.

  12. I don’t know about this…a lot of the complaint sounded like difficulty with advocating. I will wait for the actual announcement, with more details and better audio however. Also, she only said Governor and Speaker, so is that an indication this is a House member or simply to hit the Speaker for the sake of it?

  13. Pick a lane. Is it sexual harassment, sexual abuses, abuse of power? To me those are very distinct things and all are bad but some really bad

  14. There has to be a better way to handle these kinds of issues. This just seems more like a media stunt then it it really should. We have to find a better way to allow victims justice along with due process. Rightfully or wrongfully, having Proft involved could discredit this and there needs to be a better way.

Comment by Ahoy! Thursday, May 31, 18 @ 12:21 pm

  15. So it must be a republican because we know Proft and Ives have their axes to grind. If there is something concrete then I will acknowledge it, but this publicity roll out with Proft and Ives behind the scenes is so very Gloria Allredesque.

Comment by Worth It Thursday, May 31, 18 @ 12:24 pm

  16. She was combining things into one big picture of abuse. That is no doubt how she experienced it.

I just hope we can sort it out into actionable, fixable elements.

  17. A few others have beat me to it, but….. DR, Ives and Proft involved makes me angry. I think the 3 of them have no credibility at all. But….sexual harassment and/or trading favors for passage of legislation is jut plain wrong and should have been reported immediately.

  18. –The woman, who will only identify herself as “M,” joined Dan Proft and Amy for an exclusive interview..–

Just to be clear, “M” is Loncar? They’re the same person?

If so, I’m confused as to why the cloak-and-dagger on the radio, when you reveal your identity at a presser a few hours later.
