I’m currently working on getting the ad from the Rauner campaign. But if past is prologue, I assume he’ll be playing up the budget agreement like he did with his tax cut plan after he delivered his budget address. I don’t know that for a fact, however. Stay tuned.

…Adding…. The Pritzker campaign is tight-lipped, but if history is any guide they’ll go up right after Rauner does. And then

…Adding… More info…

.@GovRauner has placed new ad flights totaling at least $1 million from 6/5-6/17, according to Advertising Analytics. So far: $586k placed across Chicago, Champaign, Davenport, Paducah, and Rockford. Cable: $329k Satellite: $82,460 statewide.#twill

  1. Rauner will go up first, will try to swamp the message, and will frame his “success”.

    I said this earlier today…

===… If MJM and Dems were “super-smart” they’d use that cash now to do a full press media blitz on Dem priorities and accomplishments.

And by that, just super positive, “feel good we’re Dems” stuff. Almost so positive it feels like a trolling of Rauner and Raunerites, but in reality it’s laying a marker, positively, “we’re here, we’re all here together”

Go $200K for 4 1/2 weeks (less expenses of the ads) and sprinkle the positive. There has to be some blowback to “because Madigan”… ask “Brewskis for Bruce” if you’re confused… ===

    Daylight’s a-burnin’ Dems… daylight is a-burnin’

What are y’all prepared to do?

  5. Perfect GIF usage. The campaign will be even more chaotic if our esteemed POTUS commutes Blago’s sentence.

  8. its summer, kids out of school, vacations, great weather, no one is watching this stuff.

like Rich’s gif implies— global thermonuclear war - winner: none. waste of money by all. but then they both have all the money in the world to waste.

  9. DupageBard, I like that clip, but feel this part is a message that JB and the Dems better take to heart.

  10. OW absolutely right again. Can you imagine a month or two of positive feel good ads explaining what we would do and why and how we are all going to come together to solve problems and help one another. It would stand out for sure. No more he is a jerk no you are.

And it’ll probably work out just about as well.

I guess there’s no evidence that negative spots have really helped Rauner either, though.

  13. Almost completely unrelated but did AL Media switch their name to Big AL media or what?
