    I HATE Obamacare…

Comment by Anonimity Tuesday, Jul 3, 18 @ 1:28 pm

  8. Ugh.

    Bruce Rauner is a Republican.

    To the QOTD…

“The US Senate isn’t true representation. The House has districts, the Senate, everyone gets 2, big states, small states, what about the people in those states.”

    Sat there silent.

Comment by Oswego Willy Tuesday, Jul 3, 18 @ 1:29 pm

Comment by Leatherneck Tuesday, Jul 3, 18 @ 2:01 pm

  23. “You can see Mike Pence would be a good president just by the way he looks”.

Comment by DuPage Tuesday, Jul 3, 18 @ 2:01 pm

  24. I agree with the whole “Keep your government hands of my Medicare” the poor old dear was a little confused.

A runner up would be when someone asked me how thousands of US Representatives could fit into one room in Capitol Hill. I stared at him, and told him there were 435 reps, at which point he started talking about how that makes no sense because of the size of the US. He didn’t realize that Congress capped the size of the House to prevent just the question he was asking about. I get not knowing the history, and I give him credit for knowing how it was originally set up, but how many people don’t know how many reps there are in the House?

Comment by Perrid Tuesday, Jul 3, 18 @ 2:04 pm

Comment by Gruntled University Employee Tuesday, Jul 3, 18 @ 2:12 pm

  29. Perrid - even though I work in politics I tend to fraternize with mostly non-political types. I am often asked how many state Senators and Reps we have. And this is from people who live in the Springfield area.

Comment by Exclamation Point Deleted Tuesday, Jul 3, 18 @ 2:24 pm

Comment by Jocko Tuesday, Jul 3, 18 @ 2:34 pm

  36. ==“This year ALL 435 members of the House of Representatives will be up for reelection”==

I get your 4th grade civics lesson, but many GOP members of the House chose not to seek reelection.

Comment by Casual observer Tuesday, Jul 3, 18 @ 3:11 pm

  47. ==Partisan interpretation of talking points, that’s a whole other animal.==

Yes, thank you. Too many responses here are just slamming the policies of the politicians they don’t like.

Comment by Arsenal Tuesday, Jul 3, 18 @ 3:17 pm

  48. [Day after Trump elected] “Can’t we (third coast, east coast, west coast, blue states) just break off in to a separate country?” This person was so distraught that I felt I couldn’t remind her right then and there about the disaster that ensued when that was tried in 1861.

Comment by 32nd Ward Roscoe Village Tuesday, Jul 3, 18 @ 3:17 pm
