Willie Wilson says he voted for Trump and Rauner

* From a Third Coast Review reporter about a Chicago mayoral candidates’ forum this week…

Donald Trump got 12 percent of the vote in Chicago. Bruce Rauner got 21 percent (which might be more than he’ll get this time).

I’m not seeing an easy path here.

Businessman and former 2015 mayoral candidate Willie Wilson said that tax dollars should “represent neighborhoods” and be a reflection of those communities, not just downtown. Public policy consultant Amara Enyia, who was also a brief contender in the 2015 mayoral race before being pushed out thanks to a petition challenge by Wilson also hit the mayor with a tale of two Chicago’s comparison.

* Should Lightfoot’s GOP work be an issue in mayor’s race?: Lightfoot made her own charge in the interview, saying that if Emanuel supporters are so worried about cozying up with Republicans, the mayor ought to return a $50,000 campaign contribution he got from Trump in 2010 and not take large contributions from another prominent Republican, Citadel’s Ken Griffin. Still, “he has the audacity to challenge my beliefs.”

Rahm would love for Willie Wilson to drop out because the majority of his voters will go to Dorothy Brown, which would actually give her a good chance of getting to second place in a crowded field, setting up runoff between Rahm & Dorothy.

Despite what you read in Kass’ usual shallow tantrum, Wilson didn’t give away “his” money.

The money came from his charitable foundation, which solicits and accepts donations, including at least $200K that Rauner has said he made in the last year.

Who else has donated to the foundation is unknown, since it has not filed reports as required by law.

No big deal to a willfully ignorant partisan hack like Kass, but you’d think a newspaper with editors would strive to accurately report basic facts.

Ah… so the Northwest Side and Beverly communities which have very conservative voters FINALLY have someone to vote for!

(many of them being ex cops and firefighters among other now retired public servants collecting pensions as well, but that’s besides the point)

Oh the irony… no wonder I cant leave politics completely despite my best efforts and intentions.

The Trib ran yet another opinion piece yesterday in which the lie was repeated that JB just removed toilets from the home he was renovating. it’s own columnist Zorn explained it was a gut rehab, but because the facts are not in keeping with the Rauner narrative they are ignored.

Re Tribune and Kass-

Im not in an office full of political types anymore… anyway theres an intern into politics i talk to, and when I mentioned Kass he had no idea who that was. And this guy is pretty well informed.

That made my day…
