Secretary of State's spokesman Dave Druker says a bomb threat was called into a legislative office for the fourth floor of the Capitol. Authorities are searching the fourth floor. House and Senate, with chambers on third floor, have recessed and evacuated.

*** UPDATE *** An “all clear” has been given for the entire building. The SoS office says the threat was called into the tourism office on the first floor about a bomb on the 4th floor.

One time there was a fire and they evacuated. And another time there was a white powdery substance found. I can’t recall another bomb threat at the moment.

Fire? I was counting the first as the lady throwing salt around to “cleanse” the place, then a few months back they found a baggie of white powder, and now this. I missed the fire one.

I didn’t know about the bomb threat at the Capitol until I was on my afternoon break at another building in the Capitol Complex. Shouldn’t SOS Police inform all state employees (either complex only or all Springfield-based employees) about the threat and that they don’t have to worry about evacuating if they’re in other buildings, but to avoid the Capitol until all-clear is given?
