  1. Region 3 (Springfield/Quincy) has had 10 consecutive days of increases, and now at 7.5%.

I would just simply return to at least Phase 3 statewide immediately regardless of metrics throughout the rest of the state.

    We must know different people.

You’re absolutely right and it shows:

  5. The WW2 and Korean War veterans who are being taken deserved better from us.

  6. Region 8 (DuPage/Will) and 7 (Kankakee/Will) both over 8% for three consecutive days and will be heading to mitigation. That now makes 4 out of 11 regions in mitigation and many others on a troubling trend. IMHO, we need a stay-at-home order again to get a lid on this.

    So right..

D-Day, Corregidor, Guadalcanal, Chosin Reservoir et al, as if they haven’t given enough and now COVID-19.

  8. I don’t see how we put a lid back on the spread of this for now. Holidays are coming and it appears that much of spread right now is going on in small and large groups that are gathering in private. You simply can’t do much to prevent that from happening.

It’s gonna be a long cold winter.

  9. Besides indicating spread, the higher positivity rate also means the state isn’t doing enough testing to catch people who were exposed and carrying the virus. Where is Illinois currently at with contact tracing? That seems to be rarely brought up since the 95% threshold level was scrubbed from the Restore Illinois Phase 4 requirements.

  10. = Where is Illinois currently at with contact tracing?=

Good question, JB promised 4000 back in May

  11. So…. We going to do anything statewide or should we wait until it’s too late?

  12. Life comes at you fast. So does Death.

30 days ago Illinois was boasting — boasting — a 3.5% rolling positivity rate and its second lowest single-day positivity rate of 2.9%.

The low positivity rates were thanks to big increases in testing. A fine achievement. But many warned that testing without contact tracing was no defense against a pandemic.

Dont blame small house parties or family gatherings that you have allowed. That is people being people, and if your plan depended on humans to voluntarily stop being humans, it was a lousy plan.

If, however, you are contact tracing, you can reasonably hope that some of those folks will skip the birthday party. Not all, but probably most.

    Where is the contact tracing?

  13. Time to stock up on more soup and canned goods.

  14. =Time to stock up on more soup and canned goods=

The supply chains for retailers are now much better prepared for COVID related impacts. No need for panic buying.

  15. Not sure contact tracing can help now

When in the middle of a stampede, tracking skills are not useful.
