  1. Cubs and Sox both at the top of their divisions (banned punctuation). Cubbies finally made it into first, but just barely. Could use some help from the Dodgers to slow down STL. Got to watch Sunday’s game from the center field bleachers, and it was good to be back. About 30-50 percent of fans were walking around masked, as well as all of the staff, but otherwise it seemed like business as usual at the old ball game.

  2. Remember when Republicans were so worked up about Benghazi…
They weren’t worried about 1/2 Million Americans dying of Covid nor attempted take over of our own capitol…
    My how things change

  3. Saw the clip of that Twins pitcher, he was pitching in the last inning against the Sox. He gave up one home run but he only had to face four batters. And he didn’t have to throw many pitches. I can see why he’s entertaining for Twins fans. He goes from heaters to pitches that barely register on a speed gun.

  4. The company that manages my retirement fund advertises itself as one that works for people who have no idea how money works, though they’re much more polite than that. I got a letter from them that’s asking me what I want to do about something I don’t understand. I want to call them and remind them this is what they do, not me. But I guess I have to go sit on hold for a while and guess about what to do. My actual plan for the day since I’m killing vacation time was to go to the beach.

  5. I heard Sammy Hagar/Van Halen Poundcake on the radio. Sure hope he does that one at the Fair.

  7. What’s on my mind today.

Rich needs to be thanked for all the time and work he puts in on this. I know he also really enjoys it so its not really work, but it’s still work that should be recognized and appreciated.

  8. What’s on my mind?

Should we go see Nelly at the Sangamon County fair?

  9. ===Rich needs to be thanked===

Nope. Not at all. This is my job.

  10. Was trying to focus on sleep… Kids have friends over so that fell through pretty quick.

  11. We are now seeing why Yermin Mercedes could not get a major league gig prior to this season. He hit .415 for April, .221 for May and .074 in the last seven days. The league figured him out.

Maybe he will figure out how to lay off the high fastball out of the zone. Let’s hope so.

  12. White Sox in first place, Bears got a QB, and the Bulls have a seemingly competent front office finally. As for Mercedes, he helped the Sox triage a bit while we pray for Robert’s recovery and a Schwarber-like return of Eloy for the postseason.

  13. Rich: Thank you for your hard work to cover the end of session. As usual an excellent job. Much appreciated.

  14. Mr Rich, your efforts, even though they are your job as you stated, are appreciated.

If I were to be your evaluator I would rate you as exceptional.

Keep up the good work, your work ethic is admirable.

    Nope. Not at all.

I usually agree with Rich, but in this case I must vigorously disagree.

  17. Rich, I too disagree.

Thank you for all you’ve done this week and through all of May especially.

The social media links alone… to your “roundup” and “update” posts alone… so many, and so many of your colleagues look to all the hard work you do and point to it so others can get the valued work you have for consumption.

    Thank you, Rich.

  18. Wondering why it took MLB so long to name today after Lou Gehrig. Glad they did… ALS research is something we all need to get behind.

  20. Dear Rich, please bask in the adoration and appreciation of your fans for a few moments. You provide a forum for information missed or ignored by much of the media, with background, contacts and readers from all walks of life, from all over the political spectrum. While we can’t all afford to subscribe, we recognize the depth and breadth of coverage given to “our sorry’s state’s” politics and government, and say “Bravo” to you for surviving another legislative session.

  21. Saw photo of my State Rep. Mike Murphy, in today’s SJ-R. I wasn’t aware he even attended. I’ve heard zippo from him this session.

  22. I really don’t understand how people can sincerely believe that the only option that we have for powering our society is to burn stuff we dig or pump out of the ground or that renewable energy sources can’t function at night or with minimal winds.

Ever hear of batteries? Or think of the fact that waste electricity can be combined with water and air to create ammonia which can then be burned in a generator to again create electricity?
