  2. Taking a week off after a brutal year of work. Heading to Vegas with Granddaughter for a family wedding. Missed our annual Grandpa and Princess vacation last year, so time to spoil her.

It would be great if we had this weather all summer long. Maybe with only 1 or 2 day interruptions periodically for some heat, as long as it’s not prolonged heat waves.

  4. Sorry Gang, hate these cool temps.

Gardens in Illinois don’t thrive or produce when the temp is in the 70s in the Summer. We need those hot and humid days in the 80s to get tomatoes, squash and sweet corn producing fruit and pollinating.

Okay, I’m okay with 80s then most of the summer. I just don’t want prolonged streaks of 90+ temps most of the summer, including here in Springfield, which is a difficult thing to wish for down here.

  7. Your garden will thrive with a break from those mid-90’s. You will see.

  8. Many, many years ago my grandpa told me he wished the temps never went below 70 or above 75. I didn’t get it. Now I do.
