Immediate House lockdown ordered

* House Majority Leader Greg Harris just told the doorkeepers “Please lock down the chamber immediately.”

* A recorded security announcement was broadcast to the chamber: “May I have your attention please. The building is on lockdown. No one is to enter or leave the building. Please secure your location and shelter in place immediately.”

* Leader Harris: “Ladies and gentlemen, I’m told the situation has cleared and we’re free to move about the building again and the doorkeepers can unlock the doors.”

* There may - may - have been a problem with the security system which triggered the alarm.

It’s awful that when we see something like this we don’t think, “Must be a glitch of some sort”, but think about crazy people with guns.

It’s normally at 10AM but today is the first Tuesday of the month, when the Capitol Complex alarm systems and messages are tested. Maybe this morning’s test caused a security error in the Capitol?

Yes, I heard the 10AM tests of Capcom in my building too–maybe there was a malfunction in the system (at least in the Capitol) caused by this morning’s test?

Isn’t he banned from the complex? He was on the SOS’s banned list back when that was released early 2020. But does anyone know what incidents got him banned after he left the House?
