  1. Consumers are being crushed by Democratic energy policies. Gas at 5 bucks a gallon. Diesel at 5.50. Renewables are not affordable. Renewables aren’t ready. Food prices are out of control.

    Ameren is out again this morning warning of brownouts during heat and cold. What is it going to take for Democrats to recognize that regular working people can’t take this any longer and take action?

  2. Lol, Rich asks us to keep it local and Mr. Free Market starts off with a global problem.

  3. And apparently arguing for price controls. Isn’t it ironic?

  4. Mr. Free Market wants government intervention?

    You may want to revisit your moniker…just sayin

  5. On cue, a conservative who warns about brownouts due to excessive heat while touting the continued use of fossil fuels.

  7. It looks like Chris Miller(no relation) is one of the 192 republicans who voted against the bill last night to help with the baby formula situation.

  8. I don’t watch “American Idol” but it has been fun seeing all the excitement around Leah Marlene around Bloomington-Normal the last several weeks and was fun that she got to have a parade and concert in Normal on Tuesday. Has Illinois had an “American Idol” winner before?

  9. Illinois did take action to address inflation, but only one party is paying for it. The other one voted against the budget. Financial wreckage approach. They will spout more magic fairy dust now, in campaign season? “We cut your taxes but didn’t increase spending.” Cutting taxes and stiffing the budget is the very opposite of conservative.

  10. Question of the day is how are the White Sox going to win the division if they can’t consistently kick the stuffing out of Kansas City?

    The formula for wining is you split with the good teams and beat up on the bad teams. So far it’s not working for the Sox.

  11. =Renewables are not affordable. Renewables aren’t ready.=

    The current energy crisis is not caused by renewable energy.

    Regardless, the economic, social, and health impacts of not transitioning away from fossil fuels will be a lot more expensive than temporarily paying more for gas. The regularity of downpours in Southern Illinois is already increasing and our farmers and infrastructure will only continue to be stressed.

    Meanwhile US oil production is still higher than any year before 2019.

  12. I think the jist of Freemarket, is we should drill on native lands, drill on national wildlife areas off the coasts, finish oil and gas pipeline between North Dakota and far away refineries and the gas pipeline from west Virginia to Pennsylvania. I was shocked when I learned the west Virginia pipeline was shelved, a lot of work had been permitted and completed. A retired friend had two sons working on that project.

  13. Abbott is based in North Chicago, the formula crisis begins and ends with them. JB is governor of the state they are HQed in. He has cozy relationship with Uncle Joe. JB gives so much of a damn about woman I’m honestly shocked he is not helping our woman more with this.

    Will be voting for Paul Schimpf come primary time.

  15. ==I’m honestly shocked he is not helping our woman more with this==

    It cracks me up that some of you think the Governor can do anything about this. It’s an absurd stance. The feds shut the plant down because some kids got sick and a couple died. In what world does the Governor have the ability to solve this issue? And what difference does it make that Abbott is headquartered in Illinois? That gives him power to solve the crisis how? Here’s the answer. It doesn’t. The only people that think he can do anything about it are hyperpartisan hacks.

  16. ===Gas at 5 bucks a gallon. Diesel at 5.50. ===

    At our local Democrat meeting the other day, I suggested we raise gas prices by another two bucks. We all laughed manically and agreed. At our next meeting we will set wheat prices. /s

  17. ===The other one voted against the budget. Financial wreckage approach.===

    Imagine a world where the minority party could create a counter-proposal and voters could pick between the two budget options. It would be delicious to see their Put Up or Shut Up budget get eviscerated when people realize their favorite programs were cut.
