  1. I never understood why the Bears let this guy get away.

    Gould - 13
    Dallas - 12

  2. Well, he couldn’t get his guy in the Governor’s mansion, but hey, who cares, KG’s hedge fund is kicking butt and taking names.

  3. Everyone’s best friend in the whole world died yesterday and the world is a little less full as a result. I knew Lin - not well, but well enough to know that the guy you heard on the radio was the same guy in real life. He’d remind us that it’s great to be alive and to take nothing for granted. He lived his life thus.

    God speed, Lin.

  4. My guy. My Mentor.
I will continue to work politics as he taught me and in his honor.

    RIP Big Al.

  5. Listening to WXRT’s tribute to Lin Brehmer. What an amazing guy. He was a GREAT DJ, fun but he also did a ton of charity work.

Chicago radio will never be the same.

  6. RIP Lin.

Such an incredible guy and one of my best friends in the whole world.

  7. I grew up one mile north of XRT. I could see the antenna out of my bedroom window and got the signal on four different places on my Zenith stereo.

Every DJ/personality they have had from Terri, Berry and Mitch through Lin has been a fantastic lover of music and had a unique ability to share that love through their shows.

Lin also exuded the ‘Chicago guy” vibe on par with Geoff Baer.

    RIP Lin.

  8. the ongoing WXRT tribute to Lin Brehmer shows why we all listen to the station…the incredible mix of music and the humanity and wonderful quirks of the DJs. Here’s hoping the best tribute to Lin is that WXRT goes on and on. Long live the music.

  9. Lurker- I think the decision on Robbie Gould was based on money. They’ve alwasy been cheap when it counted.

If the Bears had kept him, would there have been a “double doink” game?

  10. Going to miss Al.
    Knew him since 1972.

  11. @ Bob Adams:
In true Bears fashion, it was about money … but small amounts. And as a Bears hater, I appreciated the high draft pick and then drama on Mr Off-the-uprights. How does that even happen that many times?
