  1. Welcome, new Assembly members. May you each reach the conclusion that working for the people “writ-large” and the common good is why we have a General Assembly.

It is pretty cold over here by the river (West Central Illinois).

  2. I read that George Harrison’s sister, Louise, passed away in Florida.

She’s the one who lived in Benton, Illinois, and George visited in 1963 before the Beatles were big in the U.S.

  3. Steve, while driving down I57 my wife saw the billboard for Louise’s home. I explained the Beatles connection to Benton. You might say my wife was stunned.

  4. Good to see the COVID community level low in most Illinois counties. May it stay that way or even improve.

Read before that George filled in at a gig in southern Illinois for a guitarist, and the audience loved it. RIP Louise Harrison.

I heard about it a few days ago from the “Fifth Beatle” and Oscar winning film producer Robert Bartel, who I happen to know. Bob worked with Louise and others to preserve the home in Benton.
