The truly interesting thing about the John Edwards love child scandal is not that it happened — men are human beings, alas — but how, having been broken by the National Enquirer, the story percolated for weeks in the online world before exploding Friday into what is called with increasing derision “the mainstream media.”

  1. Its nice to see a few media outlets conintuing to run stories about the ethics bill just sitting on the Gov desk (waiting to be improved). It would be nice to see a full court press with the majority of news sources running ongoing coverage of the Gov lack of action on the Ethics legislation.

    On a side note, the SJ-R had a story this weekend about Quinn calling for the Senate to vote donw their pay raises. it would be very nice to see this getting big press. The best thing for Jones is for their to be minimial coverage of this in the few days leading up to its effective date. If the main stream media would rund stories about the cost of the pay raise set side by side with cuts in critical programs heavy publicity might put enough pressure on Jones to call this for a vote. But like so many ciritical stories in Illinois, it gets only sporadic buried coverage from the press which wonders why it is losing readership.
