Evening video: Quinn’s presser

Posted in:

* From CLTV, here’s Gov. Pat Quinn’s press conference from earlier today WTTW’s videos include press questions, so I’m posting them instead.

Budget questions…

Burr Oak Cemetery…

…Adding… I just checked the blog’s statistics and realized that traffic was as high this past Tuesday and Wednesday as it was during the days leading up to Rod Blagojevich’s removal by the Illinois Senate. Wow.

The best part is, the new server system showed no hints of strain. The fix worked.

Anyway, I thought you’d like to know. Thanks much.

  5. Great job, Rich. I imagine many in corporate media are scratching their collective heads right about now.

We’d all be pitifully less informed without you.

On another note, I noticed the governor didn’t appoint the comptroller to the cemetery task force.

  6. Thank you…. for this blog and all the first hand information that you provide. I work for the State of Illinois… its nice to have information communicated in a direct manner. I work for DHS… admist all the cuts and closures announced…Secretary Adams did not communicate
one word to DHS employees…as to the status of events….but then again…maybe she was on yet another trip to Africa…for the 8th…no maybe 9th time during her tenure. Far too many of us know the waste in state government…but fear reprisal…. Maybe Pat Quinn should open up a hotline…and provide employess with protection.

Maybe pat quinn should create yet another commission or task force to provide employees with protection.

just curious, did he have a taskforce or commission to help him with his march 18th budget proposal?

  8. Rich, as another state employee that really appreciates this blog because of the huge information void within the agencies, I thank you very much for what you do. Furloughs R US is right - - state employees could identify large amounts of waste is state government if it could be done without fear of reprisals.

  9. whistleblower.illinois.gov — if you work for the state you should never fear reprisal.

  13. I agree Merit. In theory whistleblower.illinois.gov works…in practice… many are victims of reprisal for attempting to do the right thing. OIG… is less than confidential. Illinois…is so corrupt…on so many different levels….sickening.
