  1. Win the division by two. Lose in second round of playoffs.

  2. They will win the division in a tiebreaker similar to 2008. They will lose in the first round—> unfortunately.

  3. They hang on, win the Division, and since they won’t have to play the Royals or Detroit anymore, they’ll actually do well.

  4. I’m a cubs fan but they should at least make the divisional round if not the lcs. The reinsdorfs should give chris sale a lot of money because otherwise this team would be a mess and the city would be at their throats for what’s gone on with the bulls the last 5 months.

  5. I’m going to say the one game holds up, but that’s some wishful thinking and a recognition that the Tigers haven’t been able to put it together all year. They should have put it away a while ago.

It would be nice to get fat for once against the Twins and Royals because we still have the Angels and the Rays and they have something to play for.

Sale and Peavy and pray for rain. I think we could we could use a few more days in the schedule to help the rotation.

Once you get to the playoffs, anything can happen, as Cards fans can tell you.

  6. I hope I’m wrong, but I think they will peeter out in the next 10 days or so and finish second in the division. They’ve been running on fumes for the last few weeks.

  7. If Dunnis OK they could go all the way….there an Ernie Banks type of prediction.
I am so POd at the Cubs I hope there is a Sox Cards series

  8. Not facing Verlander yesterday was a big break for the Pale House. He’s a proven big game pitcher, and losing three in a row to Detroit (again) would have hurt the confidence of this very young team. Now they can gather a little momentum before Monday’s makeup game and not have to face Verlander.

So Sox win division thanks to rain, ironically, in this drought-striken year. No predictions after that, but once you get in the playoffs, anything can happen.

  9. LOL. Rich, who knows as much or more about Illinois politics doesnt make election predictions. But offers a venue for us to make baseball predictions. Love it.

White Sox go six games in the World Series. Not sure which team wins it though.

  10. They won’t win the Stanley Cup

  11. I think they fall out of first place next week but only by a game. They stay there until the last three games when they sweep the Indians and the Tigers fall apart by whoever they are playing.
They win the first playoff round against Baltimore but lose to Texas for the pennant.

and Ghost they still have a series left against KC, unfortunately.

  12. They’re hungry to prove themselves and they’ll hang on to take the division because Detroit can’t seem to fully muster themselves to put it away either. Verlander is scary but never forget his complete collapse in the all-star game. If Dunn gets healthy again the Sox can go some distance in the playoffs, but their relief pitching is not good enough to take them very far for very long against the top teams.

That said, I love watching this Sox team, Robin’s leadership, and most of Kenny’s additions. It has been a great baseball season on the south side so far.

  13. –Verlander is scary but never forget his complete collapse in the all-star game.–

Verlander is one of the best of his generation. He is the goods, and has shown it for years.

All-Star games mean nothing. And Verlander spent the all-star break shacked up with Kate Upton.

If any dude rated a collapse, it was him. With a smile on his face.
