I’m a ‘poll watcher’ in the 40th house district. 47 votes at noon. Very light. More Rs than I expected (about a quarter) in this Chicago precinct.

Capitol precint 89 had 41 votes as of 11:30, workers said it was a moderate turnout so far

My wife went to vote in Ward 32 Precinct 11 and witnessed an entertaining altercation between the judges and building manager. Apparently after two hours of the manager not responding they just broke in and opened the station. The manager is now not amused at all.

A family member in DuPage got a robocall and mailer about voting for a specific candidate for 11th congressional district committeeman. So much for promoting a cross-over vote.

First time in a very long time I have voted in a primary. As a mid-management state employee it isn’t wise to declare ones self if you want to prosper.

However today I pulled a GOP ballot to cast a vote for Mr. Dillard, the candidate who isn’t Bruce, Bill, Dan, or Pat, especially Bruce.

At noon I was voter #16 in Hanover 25 - Northwest Burbs. That’s a very sad number.

No noon rush to vote today. Really low here in spite of tax referendum. Only 167 ballots at the noon tally.

I pulled an R ballot for the first time in my 34 years of voting. I mostly wanted to vote again Rauner.

Also, I voted last week. The early voting should constantly lower the last day of voting behaviors. I wish we could know how many absentee and early voters have already voted when we get a mid-day report.

Who is the committeeman in 32? I saw an earlier report about a lack of judges being a problem in 32 also. Maybe somebody should tell him the job is more than just showing up at slating meetings.

Rural downstate precinct now up to 21 votes cast. If the past any indication, that’s about 2/3 of the votes. Probably mostly Rs pulling R, but at least one non-partisan.

Local government employee here and my co-workers have all been crossing over to vote Repub as a protest against pension theft.

Low low turnout in my southern Lake County precinct. Some obvious, bold (even bragged about) crossover voting. Stuff like “Can’t believe I’m actually pulling an R ballot”, “Dad is rolling over in his grave that I’m voting Republican today” etc. Not sure what it all will mean, tho.

Did I mention turnout is very low?

I hear of some crossover votes taking place…my question is this - Where will the crossover votes be in November? Will they stay crossover or retreat back and stay safe and vote democrat thus helping a Quinn re-election?

You can, at least in Cook County, for EV (in person).

I haven’t talked to anyone who is crossing over who will switch back if Dillard wins. If Rauner wins of course Quinn will get some of ( but nowhere near all) those voters back. Don’t underestimate the level of disgust many have for what Quinn has done to state employees and retirees over the last couple of years

As of 1:00, only 9.1% have voted in York 26. Looks like the predicted 20% turnout.

Roadiepig is right. I can’t see how Dillard could do worse than Quinn. A second vote for Dillard may be the second Republican vote of my life. It is extremely likely Quinn will get my vote if Rauner wins.

No. 135 at my precinct on South MacArthur in Springfield at 1:30 p.m. Moderate turnout, but there’s a contested sheriff’s race in the Republican primary. I pulled an R ballot for the first time in my life, and hope I never have to do *that* again!

Early numbers look like about 60% of suburban Cook voters are taking GOP primary ballots. Four years ago the number was 35%.

Obviously, there are lots of new elephants.

I am planning on voting after work. I have never pulled a R ballot and would love to vote against Rauner. But I have a couple friends down ballot who I really want to support.

I vote in a 5-precinct polling place that is historically above average turnout. Not there yet today according to the pollwatchers.

Term limit barker outside the polls looking for signatures. Some old grouch told him he was too close to the door and had to move or the cops would come.

I had the term limit Raunerbot at my polling place too. Asked the judges about kicking him out and they called for an opinion. They said as long as he isn’t adovcating for a candidate.

I was voter #456. All 455 before me voted for Dillard. Of course, I vote in an area where unicorns also vote.

Pulled a R ballot along with my wife and daughter. What Rauner will try to do to public education in this state will be downright criminal. Had to vote for Dillard.

A friend texted me to say she voted in Rock Island just before noon and there were probably close to 50 voters who went through or were in line while she was at her precinct. In HEAVILY Democratic RI County with uncontested candidates for all the top offices, I would normally expect a very low turn out. However, there are two tax sales tax increases totalling 1.25 cents and a 15 million dollar bond issue on the ballot.

My friend said that in front of her were a group of “construction/electrician/plumber guys who were all talking about voting Republican, if they ever had before, if they thought this was going to work, what they were going to do with the all the @%#^*#$ Republican politcal junk mail they are now going to get…”

RI County Clerk expects 22% turnout (about 20,000 voters). As of Monday, only 4% (3500) had voted early.

CBS reporting only 6% turnout in Cook between 6a and 2p.

“Older voters dominated the turnout, with 18,873 people between 55-64 and 18,241 people aged 65-74 casting ballots. A total of 13,813 over age 75 had voted. A total of 14,237 voters under the age of 45 had gone to the polls.”

This site is not a good indicator, as most here are well informed, and obviously most Rauner supporters are the opposite. However I am impressed by the number of folks who, like me, pulled an R ballot for the first time to send the Baron packing back to his moated mansion.

In my neck of the woods, no votes were for Rauner. The two Brady voters I knew, switched this week and voted for Dillard.

I still expect the polls to be correct.

As of about 1 PM, my precinct in Springfield was running about 9% turnout. Lower than I expected given the hotly contested Gov race and the Sherriff’s race here in Sangamon plus the fact a fair amount of state employees / retirees live in the area.

Wes Barr apparently has a GOTV operation going; came home a few minutes ago to find a note taped on my storm door about the primary and urging a vote for Wes.

LOL every time I read a comment like this and others pulling their first time Republican ballot. This from folks who obviously voted Democratic for years electing the likes of Blago and Quinn and Madigan and Cullerton. Talk about brainless.
