3 years? It is going to be 3 decades before Illinois finishes paying the price for Blago and enablers.

14 years at 85% is about, roughly, 11 years, 10 months, minus a year for his alcohol rehab program is roughly 11 years, 10 years, 10 months.
Rod has served 3 years, 7 plus to go.
Reduce that to 3 years 6 months, (6 1/2 years), that would have been more reasonable. However…
The mockery Rod made, the grandstanding, the taunting of law enforcement… You get the extra 3 1/2 years.
You get convicted…you repent, you apologize, you show real remorse, you keep your yap shut…that’s if you’re “wise” enough to go to trial with a USA Office with 90%+ conviction rate.
Hubris cost Rod 3 1/2 years. Shame.
The daughters are still in my thoughts and prayers. Has to be tough on them.

Anybody tried talking to him? Or has he clammed up while his appeal is pending?
Speaking of which, the appellate court is certainly taking it’s time. It’s been well over a year since oral arguments.

I’d give up my fancy public employee pension, if I had one, to see a picture of him with his snow white hair. Word, you’re right. I remember Natasha Korecki wrote a piece in Politico last July that the 7th Circuit Court ruling in his case was coming “any day now.”

It has been over a year since oral argument. Still betting the Senate bribe gets tossed and Blago gets re-sentenced

Blogo is a goof. But how long did JJ Jr. get? How long did his wife get? If there was real justice JJ Jr. and wife would be doing three times the sentence that they got and Blog a third. Just food for thought.

Rollo - JJ Jr. plead guilty presumably because he saw the risks and consequences of going to trial. Blago made a mockery of the process and received a sentence consistent with the federal guidelines. Judges in the federal system are given a great deal of latitude in handing down sentences and the conduct of the defendant has a direct correlation to how heavy handed they might be. I agree with OW. Hubris got Blago at least a couple of years.

I’m not a fan of Blago never was. But the sentence he received is so far out of whack that it has to be reversed. The problem with these federal judges is they have life appointments and play by there own set of rules . The 7th circuit should be referred as the 7th circus.

No Blago fan but what crime did he commit? Same with GHR. Making up “crimes” and convincing jurors is bogus. Any other trial with GRyans juror misconduct would have been a mistrial. And with Blago, being a big mouth is not a crime. Travesty of justice.

The only difference between God and a Federal Judge is that God didn’t think He is a Federal Judge. A 70 year old doesn’t know how to use an ATM? Break out the mace.

I actually don’t even think JJ3 did a while lot of wrong. His words were “come and get me.” That’s what did it.
