The realization of Gov. Rauner’s response “Change is hard” is clearly letting it be known Rauner forcing this change isn’t an accident and starving the beast to destroy Social Services is a Raunerite “want” not a GOP desire. Rauner says he’s frustrated, but what if his frustration is based on not having this destruction occur quicker to force Labor & Dems to capitulate. “Change is hard”, that’s a Rauner choice and Rauner’s frustration is that Raunerism can’t destroy at the past Rauner wants the destruction.
Raunerism isn’t measurably helpful and Rauner complaining about the destruction not happening reinforces that Rauner wants this, it’s not a Democratic want. This IS on Rauner, he just told us it was.

For a guy that’s so focused, the governor has nothing of substance to say.
Channel 7 must have a whale of a softball team. But, then again, Charles Thomas told us last week that Rauner is “fiscally conservative,” every shred of evidence to the contrary.

Change is NOT hard if you know what you are doing. Rauner is acknowledging that he has failed and his excuse reveals that he doesn’t know why.
Just quit! You’ve set back reform in Illinois for a generation. What’s worse than not doing something is doing something so badly, you discredit doing something.

Rauner is a failing governor. He is intentionally attempting to destroy Illinois. His chapter in the history books won’t be flattering. Heck, most of our imprisoned ex-governors did a better job running the state.
I’m just tired of Rauner. He needs to take his ongoing dog and pony show of a campaign elsewhere.

So my options are to accept Rauner’s change, get paid less, and have higher taxes or not accept change and only deal with higher taxes. Sounds like status quo is the winner.

This is defiantly a pro-business position that Rauner has. However, with the states unemployment rate about 1% above national average in Nov. 2016, is this good for the workers of the state?

Obviously, in context, he is trying to place blame for the fact that it has “taken longer than it should” on those who are resistant to his “change.”
It’s telling that he can say that with a straight face without considering how it reflects on him. So, you acknowledge that it has taken longer than it should to implement your agenda, your word, not mine. Somehow, though, you don’t think that reflects poorly on you. He’s really in his own little world.

Change is only good if it makes things better. So far, I’ve only seen things get worse, and changes for a 1.4% savings in the budget won’t make things better in the long term either.

So is paying the vendors the governor contracted to provide Meals on Wheels for seniors.
Nearly six months into the fiscal year, and the Superstars haven’t submitted any billing to even get them in line to be paid for goods and services already provided in good faith.
Can’t blame Madigan for that. That’s all on the governor’s office.
The only question is whether it’s incompetence or squeeze-the-beast sabotage. I’ll take the latter.

I’m certain he is frustrated that the U of I and the other Regionals are still barely operating. It would just be one less problem if EIU, Chicago State, Western and SIU or SIU-E would close!
