* Remember the College Republicans’ “Say Yes To Bruce Rauner “ online ad? Despite huge publicity nationally and locally for the political spoof of a popular cable TV show, it has received fewer than 15,000 views, less than any other state where the ad appeared.
The Quinn campaign’s “Wolf of Winnetka” online ad, which y’all absolutely hated and which got zero earned media, has more than twice as many views as the College GOP ad, 32K+. The follow-up to that “Wolf” ad has almost 24,000 views so far, more than half again as many as the “Say Yes To The Dress” spoof.
I guess there’s no accounting for taste.
* Here’s the new College GOP ad for your amusement. It’s called “K Text”..
Hat tip: Illinois Review.

That was stupid…
Also can’t see Pat even replying to a text without at least 200 words.

Why do all rauner ’supporters’ want to stay anonymous? My guess is after the 11/4 rauner concession speech, none of them will admit to ever having supported him and claim they agreed with me all along. Lol!

Dear heaven, I am so sick of these “College Republican” ads. Clearly they are being heavily funded, because there’s a huge crapload of them online. They keep running constantly in Hulu, which is driving me out of my mind!!!!! And they’re so clearly done by older folks who are trying to be cool like the kids. Ugh….

I’m sure Quinn accidentally hit send before completing his response. He meant to say “Kiss my rear on Michigan Avenue.”.

“Rauner won’t play games with Illinois students
Signed,
A non Payton Prep student, who lost out to Rauner’s Unqualified, Denied, Winnetka-Living Daughter”
Dopes.
Comment by Oswego Willy Thursday, Oct 30, 14 @ 12:55 pm
Some kid who earned his/her way into Payton Prep but wasn’t born with connected parent sure thinks Rauner plays games.
Did the college kids do any research before preparing this one? They walked right into the Payton Prep thing.
Comment by Gooner Thursday, Oct 30, 14 @ 12:59 pm
The “Plutocrat (The Ballad of Bruce Rauner)” country music video by Matt & Samantha Farmer still packs the most entertainment value!
Comment by Economic Justice Thursday, Oct 30, 14 @ 1:00 pm
Just curious, was anyone at CPS fired for allowing Rauner’s daughter to be clouted in?
Someone at CPS had to approve it. Who was that person, and have they been fired?

The idea of “college GOP” is baffling to me.
In my undergrad and grad years, I never saw — much less talked to — a fellow student who was even remotely interested in the GOP.
Comment by Frenchie Mendoza Thursday, Oct 30, 14 @ 1:08 pm
Not that it matters, if you recall, the admission to Payton was soon followed by a $250,000 donation and I’ll bet more followed. A promotion is more likely.

Has A Guy been walking any college precincts? Are these ads turning all the kids onto Bruce?

=== I guess there’s no accounting for taste. ===
Or the Quinnbots have been freezing the viewer count.
But, I will withdraw my complaint to the Visual Pollution Department.

As for the add:
How did Zoe get Pat Quinn’s cell phone number, and when did Pat learn how to text?
Comment by Yellow Dog Democrat Thursday, Oct 30, 14 @ 1:15 pm
Quinn would probably believe that “K” was a reference to a Chris Sale strikeout. He would not get this reference at all. Swing and a miss on this ad.
Comment by Jake From Elwood Thursday, Oct 30, 14 @ 1:19 pm
Is a campaign commercial or a Lee Nails ad? Which Valley Girl demographic in IL is this appealing to? Did Bruce and a couple of North Shore moms cut this one? I mean, this is how young people talked in the movies 25 years ago.

D. Complete garbage. As a college student I don’t think this will get younger people to the polls let alone voting for Rauner.

My daughter works with college groups and says the energy is very high for conservative/Republican candidates vs
the liberals/Democrats. Didn’t anyone read the Harvard millennial poll? Silly ads aside, I think young liberals will be staying home for this election!

Absurd ad for the Payton clouting, won’t tell you how he’ll fund anything guy. Besides, there’s something wrong with the hands of the person on the left.

Thunder,
Your use of the tedious term “kool aid” pretty much rules out the chance that you’ve ever done any critical thinking.

Sorry to hear that Gooner - are your kids liberal? Mine used to play/watch a lot of sports until she became an overachieving, hardworking capitalist! Now, she is a little too busy working her way through college to get involved with anything except her future.
Comment by southwest Thursday, Oct 30, 14 @ 2:53 pm
Tragically, it appears that Young Ms. Southwest inherited the “no sense of humor gene” from her parents.
Hopefully she will come home from college soon so the two of you can sulk together.

@ Gooner: Arsenal v. Burnley, even so, still worried. not enough goals v.Sunderland.
Comment by Amalia Thursday, Oct 30, 14 @ 4:23 pm
Amalia, Exactly.
Sunderland gave up eight the week before, and then we come in and they give up one, and then Mannone bungled a second one in at about the 93rd minute?
Sunderland easily could have won.
This is the worst Arsenal side I’ve ever seen. Injuries are part of it (you can’t lose two defenders, Ozil, Walcott, Ramsey and Giroud and still expect to play at top level) but there also hasn’t been much heart.
They really blew it when they didn’t sign Fabregas. He would have take the captain’s armband back and demanded effort.
Right now the only one that seems to care is Alexis Sanchez.
It is going to be a long year.
Comment by Gooner Thursday, Oct 30, 14 @ 4:34 pm
@Gooner, new physio guy for the Gunners clearly not working out. ridiculous number of injuries. only hope is that FIFA money rules catch up with City and Chelsea so they can stop buying players and gaming the system, like with Lampard on the transfer from the new NYC MLS team. unlike most governments, Arsenal is a fiscally sound shop. small solace as the look at the top four is still up.
Comment by Amalia Thursday, Oct 30, 14 @ 5:57 pm
@ Gooner, also, since one has to fire up the internet to watch anything but Chelsea QPR for the second match on Saturday morning, I may strongly consider watching lots of Stoke West Ham, two of the most rough fan bases ever. could be amusing.
Comment by Amalia Thursday, Oct 30, 14 @ 6:32 pm
Amalia and Gooner: I am still crying over Fulham’s departure. I might watch the USMNT v. Colombia just to see the old cottage again.
Loyalty for lost causes seems to be a character defect of mine.
Comment by walker Thursday, Oct 30, 14 @ 7:27 pm
@ Walker, I too miss Fulham, as Craven Cottage is what Wrigley Field advocates think it is…historic and charming. where else does a team use something like Anne Boleyn’s home as a locker room? added bonus for me…Hugh Grant as a Fulham fan, often in the stands. but if you want a team in the Premier League while you wait for Fulham to come back up, choose Arsenal!!!!! Pick fiscal integrity over oligarch fueled football even if Arsenal seems always destined for 4th place at the most.
Comment by Amalia Thursday, Oct 30, 14 @ 7:51 pm
Amalia: In my grief period I try to watch smart, aggressive football, and do generally like Arsenal. 4th place in the EPL is a spot of honor.
Last year the Spurs had some of that “English style” push, but lost it toward the end.
Comment by walker Thursday, Oct 30, 14 @ 8:05 pm
@ Walker….you CANNOT even like the Spurs. Gooner will be all over you as well!
still loved watching Clint Dempsey play for Fulham. keep those memories and welcome to generally liking Arsenal!
Comment by Amalia Thursday, Oct 30, 14 @ 10:05 pm
Dempsey? McBride is from my town, and I loved the Cottagers since a trip to London even before that. Arsenal it is then. See you.
Comment by walker Thursday, Oct 30, 14 @ 10:32 pm
Amalia is right. There will be no praising of the Spuds here, for any reason.
In fact, Rich should amend the standard warning to include “praise of Tottenham for any reason other than holding yet another quality riot”, along with sock puppetry and profanity, as a basis for permanent banishment.
I’m glad to see that Walker has come around. Now that there are three of us, maybe Rich can start the morning with “Oohh to be a Gooner” as the selection. For some of us, that chant is beautiful music.
Agree on Fulham too. Disappointed see them go down. They need new ownership.
Comment by Gooner Friday, Oct 31, 14 @ 12:24 am
one, two, three….it’s a CapFax Arsenal caucus!!!!
welcome to the world of Nick Hornby (read Fever Pitch), Ian Poulter, Queen Elizabeth, Piers Morgan (great to read his Twitter feed during matches) Idris Elba and millions more….Arsenal fans all just hoping for a fourth place finish.
in deference to Walker, we can agree to virtually meet at McBride’s pub to tip a few.
