* In keeping with our ongoing theme of treating people as humans instead of cartoon characters, I give you one Richard Goldberg.
Yeah, some of y’all don’t much like Richard. I get it. The governor’s chief liaison is also the Prince of Snarkness and not exactly popular around here.
Regardless, he’s still one of my favorite people in the entire Rauner administration. You just don’t know him like I do.
* This past weekend, Richard treated his girlfriend Roxie to one of those Lake Michigan dinner cruises. I’ve met Roxie on a few occasions and she’s about the nicest person you’ll ever know. Some of us sometimes wonder what she sees in our boy, but he’s most definitely blessed to have her.
Anyway, Richard told us that he was going to pop the big question during the cruise. And he followed through…
Nice rock.
For whatever reason, Roxie said “Yes.”
I couldn’t be happier for them.

Ye shall lick the salt together, and I wish ye good health in doing so.
Squeeze the toothpaste from the bottom, everything else takes care of itself. Congratulations to both of you!

Thanks for the humanizing stories you’ve been doing lately. May the “Prince of Snarkness” and his beloved have a wonderful life together! I can’t stop giggling. He sure doesn’t look like the “Prince of Snarkness”. Give that young woman a few years to tame and train him and he’ll be as compliant and meek as a lamb! “Richard!, tell Bruce to go home and come to dinner right now! Yes dear… sorry Bruce you gotta go home now. I’ll see you tommorrow. Let’s play union buster! We can…RICHARD!!!!! NOW!!!…gotta go..coming dear”

Nice ring, well done lad!
Most of us that are married are lucky enough to “out kick our coverage”, good for him.

“The Prince of Snarkness” is just one of those nicknames that if you never met Goldberg, you know how restraunt quality his snark must be.
Wear that nickname with pride.

Congratulations. I’m glad to see the human side of some of the people we read about. I think it’s important to realize that people we criticize and disagree with profoundly may very well be good, decent human beings who lead honorable and interesting lives. It’s far too easy to look at people one dimensionally until they become cartoon caricatures who no longer represent who they really are as human beings. This is something that this blog provides that few other outlets do.

What “-AC-”@3:52″ said. I’ve come to respect many of the regular posters here for their ability to think and write in a very thought-provoking and sophisticated manner, Dave Mason’s best song nothwithstanding.
Be nice to each other, never speak when angry without counting to ten, and enjoy your lives. Here’s hoping Uncle Brucie stuffs a fat card into the bridal purse.
