* A group called Republicans for Fair Taxation, which isn’t registered with the State Board of Elections, is running a robocall in at least one state Senate district today…
Boy, oh boy. Lawmakers really messed up. Get this: Sen. Brady is pushing to divert local property tax dollars to Springfield for the budget crisis. That’s money for local schools, for our kids. Thought he was a Republican.
Brady’s also pushing to bailout Chicago schools, giving them $215 million. Who’s he representing? Them? Or us?
He wants to raise taxes? Come on. We can’t trust establishment Republicans like Brady. They say one thing, do another when no one’s looking. Brady let us down. Again. Paid for by Republicans for Fair Taxation
Um, huh? Diverting local property tax dollars to state coffers? No such plan.
…Adding… Comments and text messages indicate that numerous Republican Senate districts were hit with that same robocall today.
* Listen…

I received this call in Sen. Mike Connelly’s district this morning, as well.

They may not need to register with the State Board of Elections, if they don’t operate right before elections, and they may not need to register with the Secretary of State, if they don’t lobby. But whoever they are, they’re not helping anyone get to 30 and 60.
Maybe that’s all they really want.

Same call and script in Sen. Oberweis’ district.

This smells like a Dan Proft operation.

If you spend less than $5,000 you don’t need to register.

Brady, Connelly, Oberweis, all safe GOP districts.
So who among the Usual Suspects of far-right whack jobs wants to soften up these “establishment Republicans” for a primary?
Given the dishonesty of the insipid script, one particularly talent-less troller of sugar-daddy money comes to mind.

Sounds like a state-wide effort from the far right, to corral Republican State Senators into a “never vote for a tax increase” stance.
Easiest thing in the political world to push, if you don’t care about actually balancing the Illinois budget, or maintaining proper functions of government.

Received same call in Radogno’s district this morning. I agree with 47th Ward about a Proft operation.

Well this should help.

The “diverting local property tax dollars” is likely a poorly worded reference to a local property tax cap and raising states taxes.
It might be the defectors effect but the wording is dishonest.

Doesn’t Rauner want the LGDF money?
Comment by Scott Monday, Mar 27, 17 @ 2:11 pm
LGDF is from the income tax, not the property tax.
