More on this tomorrow…

Barack Obama finally helped voters see tonight that Alan Keyes is smug, condescending and arrogant to the core. Keyes truly believes he is right and the rest of us are wrong. He talks down to us as if we were small-minded children in desperate need of his vast “wisdom.”

The mask Keyes wore so successfully in the first debate was partially removed tonight. Let’s hope it’s pulled all the way off during the next debate.

Now, back to the ballgame.

  1. My lovely wife summed it up: Alan Keyes needs to spend more time asking the people of Illinois what they think about issues and spend less time telling them what they should think about the issues.

  2. Keyes is supposed to be a top-notch debater??? Barack smoked him tonight - landed a nice sucker punch when he referred to the University of Chicago professor who analyzed Keyes’ tax plan and said it would be enormous.

He landed a devastating blow when Obama announced he “isn’t running to be Minister of Illinois, (he’s) running to represent Illinois in the U.S. Senate” - Keyes was visibly shaken and apparently not ready for that one tonight.

Alan, go back to Maryland and sell your “crazy” there…we ain’t buyin’.

  3. I completely agree with the last post and apparently so does Eric Zorn of the Chicago Tribune:

“Then came the roundhouse left — the haymaker that effectively ended the debate in a race that has been over since before it began:

I’m not running to be the minister of Illinois, I’m running to be its United States Senator.

Bring out the smelling salts and throw in the towel.”

    Nice catch!
