Time’s running out - Vote Konerko!

Posted in:

* All-Star balloting ends this afternoon at 3 o’clock and Paul Konerko remains in third place. We need to change that now, baseball fans.

From a story posted at MLB.com a few hours ago

With fewer than seven hours remaining, Yankees outfielder Nick Swisher held the slimmest of leads over Kevin Youkilis of the rival Red Sox in a race that is shaping up to be a photo finish at today’s 4 p.m. ET deadline in the 2010 All-Star Game Final Vote Sponsored by Sprint. […]

The two Final Vote winners, one from each league, will be announced live on MLB.com and MLB Network at 6 p.m. ET. Those two players will take the 34th and final roster spots for the 81st All-Star Game on Tuesday in Anaheim.

After multiple lead changes, including three in the past 24 hours alone, Swisher and Youkilis continued to be locked in a virtual tie for the American League’s top spot. Paul Konerko of the White Sox remained in third place and is followed by Michael Young of the Rangers and Delmon Young of the Twins — both of whom homered on Wednesday.

Some things are just more important than politics, so take the time to vote today. Click here now. If you didn’t vote early - and even if you did - you can still vote often!

…Adding… After you’re finished voting several times, check out the video. Then vote again!

  1. It would be kinda funny for Swisher to beat out Konerko in this vote.

  2. Swish would be my second choice because I thought trading him was a mistake. If somebody else has to win, I hope it’s him. But I’m with Paulie all the way. VOTE!!!

  3. Can’t play hooky today. Too bad, some of this oppressive humidity is gone and apparently great seats are available.

Paulie’s one of the good guys. Vote early and often. Go ahead, it’s legal this time.

  9. Ya right, I’ll vote for him, and then I’ll find out he’s really hitting .212 instead of .296 and he’s just pulling my chain about really being ‘all-star’ caliber.

(Sorry…I’m a little skeptical about voting for anyone in Illinois for anything theses days)

  10. at least the Sox swept the Angels! Danks….awesome.
Paulie deserves to be put on if someone drops off.

  11. I voted for someone who, you know, actually was better and deserved it. Namely, Kevin Youkilis, who has been significantly better than either Konerko and Swisher.
