He adamantly refuses to endorse the incumbent Democratic governor and leaves open the possibility that he could endorse Gov. Quinn’s Republican opponent, yet he’s angry that anyone would dare question his Democratic bona fides?

Thank you very much, ladies and gentlemen, and this is a very very happy day for me and uh, my wife, Mrs. Daley. We see Springfield far too seldom. But particularly today when we can, we can join with old friends, we can make new friends and we help celebrate a young man’s first big-time appointment. And also, to thank that boy’s political family for a magnificent contribution to the state. I have here in my hand, an IOU — made out to the University, and it is a magnificent endowment in the name of uh, Ryan Croke, and the IOU is signed by that young man’s Governor — whom I think we should recognize. Pat, stand up please, stand up, let the folks see you. Folks, I want you to join with me in giving a real Springfield thank-you to Governor Pat Quinn!
We also have as a special added attraction, the Bridgeport Boys Choir. Who have, uh, chosen a certain special song, in a special arrangement, to honor their host, Governor Pat Quinn. Boys.
